"We were met at our Sofitel Metropole Hotel by Rose, our delightful young guide for the evening. As we walked around the Hoan Kiem lake to a specialty Noodle restaurant, she happily chatted and shared some of the Hanoi history. Before long our meal of chicken noodles arrived. An extremely tasty meal. Time to climb aboard our cyclo's for an interesting street view of the night life on the narrow streets. We wondered for a while where Rose was taking us as we walked down a narrow corridor and up a flight of stairs. Entering the famous Egg Coffee shop, we awaited for this specialty drink. Just wished that we were able to get the recipe for this delicious drink! Next stop, the Water Puppet Theatre. An entertaining and cleverly staged performance. Another short stroll along the edge of the lake before returning to our hotel. We found Rose to be an extremely polite, friendly and welcoming guide. Many thanks Rose! We certainly recommend this tour to anyone."

"My wife and really enjoyed our afternoon street food tour with our guide Rose. She was very informative, so friendly and inviting, she spoke great English and made sure we could understand everything she was saying to us. The food was fantastic and she was very knowledgeable about all the different types of food. Rose made sure we were enjoying everything and even made sure we didn't eat anything we didn't want to (everything was superb!). She took us to all the places we would never have been on our own and we tried a lot of food we had never seen before. We told Rose we had a plane to catch that evening so she made sure the tour was finished in time for us to get to the airport on time. Really great guide and a highly recommended tour, especially if you want to experience the real essence of Hanoi and Vietnam. This was a great way to finish off our trip."

Rose spoke very good English and had a great personality that made the excursion quite fun and enjoyable! Rose also went out of her way afterwards to show us around town and answer many questions we had. She was great and I would highly recommend the food tour!"

"Our guide, Anna, listened to us and geared the tour toward our likes and dislikes. We had Bobia first because I had seen the carts before and wondered what it was (crepe with freshly shredded coconut and sugar cane - delicious). We had 3 seafood dishes that were so beautifully seasoned they are hard to describe. We finished with egg coffee - it was a unique treat. Overall the tour was very enjoyable."

"We arrived at lunchtime in Hanoi and our friends booked an evening walking street food tour of the Old Quarter. What an amazing night with Hannah - she is so friendly and happy to talk and share what she knows about her homeland. It was so good to learn how to cross the road!!!! To try street food we had never tried before we put our trust in Hannah and what we ate and experienced introduced us to the real Vietnam. We had a great fun night that gave us the confidence to walk the streets of Vietnam and confidently eat and drink local specialties. Recommend this tour to everyone for the food, the sights, the cultural experience and the welcome to a beautiful country."

"Anna's knowledge of Hanoi's history and all the good places to eat and drink added up to hours of fun on the twisting streets of the Old Quarter. We had regular and dry chicken pho, a variety of spring rolls, a honey grilled chicken bahn mi, some classic desserts (che), an egg coffee at Cafe Giang, and a water puppet show. If I had done all of this myself, I wouldn't have understand half of what I was eating, drinking, or seeing. I really appreciate the personal touch that Anna brought to the tour, and I highly recommend it."

"We took this tour last minute, arranged by our hotel manager and we loved it! Our guide, Thanh, picked us up from reception and brought us back at the end of the tour which was very convenient as we just arrived and didn't know the way. It was a small group of 4 people. Thanh took us to seven different places and all the food was very tasty. Thanh showed us the sights along the way and was very informative. I highly recommend this tour as it is not only about eating. We got to know the old quarter and ate some authentic dishes along the way. The cost was 25 USD and it lasted more than four hours."

It was great to see the city with someone who knows it well and to gain the insights of traveling with a local to get a feel for the place and the lives of the people. Sam, Nguyn Phng, is a great representative for the young people of Vietnam. If most are like her, I predict a brilliant future!"

"Last week my husband and I went to Vietnam for our honeymoon. We booked a walking food tour around Hanoi's old quarter because we really wanted to eat authentic food on the street but had no idea where to go. Hannah was our tour guide and she was so lovely to talk to, and knew a lot about the history of Hanoi and its food culture. She took us to little food shops we would not have known to visit, with the most delicious food we would not have known to eat! We loved ending the tour with Hannah over a cold Vietnamese beer. In fact, we went back to the places she took us during our stay in Hanoi."

"We contacted Ms. Alissa via a friend in Vietnam. She understood our requirements and we felt confident with her planning and advice. She spent a long time via e-mail helping us to organize our trip to Vietnam. We were able to ask her for help with every aspect, including visas. She got us good prices on tours in Hanoi, Halong bay and also Ho Chi Minh, the Mekong delta. The hotels and the guides she recommended were excellent in terms of service and price and location. Her advice on the train journey we wanted to do from Hue to Da Nang was invaluable and we were glad we did as he suggested. It was great finally meeting her in her office in Hanoi where he was also able to suggest some eating places. We felt that all the time we were in Vietnam if we had any problem anywhere we could have contacted him and he would have helped us out. If ever we are lucky enough to go back we will definitely ask Paul to help again. A big thank you to Alissa and all the staff at Crossing Vietnam Tour!"
