The sympathetically restored former stable block of our Provencal farmhouse offers charming comfortable accommodation, totally independent from the main house. The four spacious bedrooms, each with en-suite shower room and toilet, one with private terrace, are all tastefully decorated and furnished with antiques. There is a fully equipped kitchen, separate dining room, and comfortable lounge.

The villa has one delightful courtyard, where you can dine in the shade of the wisteria, swimming pool, a pleasant garden, summer kitchen, and private secure parking that will complete the picture. Even though the villa has only four bedrooms but the maximum number participants are six persons.


Join Cook'n With Class Uzès for a culinary vacation in the Gard Provencal, in the medieval city of Uzès. This is an intensive culinary vacation where you will learn alongside experienced French chef. You will taste, visit, smell, and delight in all that the south of France has to offer in this gastronomical fare.

The group size is small only up to six people, so you will have plenty of hands-on cooking experiences. You will not only be at your chopping boards during the holidays, but, you will also have the opportunities to visit vineyards, olive mills, or a working farm to learn how the famous goat cheese of the region is produced. But of course, you will not forget the entertainment, as life in the south is just as full of music and laughter.

The following is a sample itinerary and is subject to change due to weather, availability of Cook'n With Class Uzès producers and other unforeseen circumstances. Cook'n With Class Uzès will provide you with a full schedule on your arrival day. Breakfast is provided every morning at the villa.



Arrival at the villa around 4:00 p.m. Settle in and join Cook'n With Class Uzès pool-side for an introduction and welcome cocktail dinner with the team and hosts.


Today is your day off. Discover the area and get to know your housemates and classmates. Cook'n With Class Uzès are happy to make suggestions on things to do in the area.


Today will be your first day of cooking class which introduces you to French cuisine. Cook'n With Class Uzès will prepare a three-course meal. In the afternoon, you will have a visit to local goat cheese farm that is in-season. The rest of the evening is yours to spend.


Today is a market day at Les Halles de Nîmes. You will visit historic Nîmes to shop at the market and buy all the produce that will be used to cook your picnic lunch meals and also for your next classes. Discover the local produce and learn how to shop "a la Francaise" (the French way).

You will then be taken for a lunch picnic upon your return to Uzès by carriage. After the picnic lunch, you will return to school for more prep work for the following day such as bread making and much more. The evening will be at your own leisure.


On this day, you will have a visit to the local producers' market in Uzès. You will also have a market day class where you shop for the ingredients that you will use to prepare for your three-course lunch at the school. The menu will be determined while shopping together at the market and will be based on what is the fresh and in-season ingredients. The evening will be at your own leisure.


Today, you will have a cooking class at the school. You will make bread and croissant and make a preparation for three-course lunch. You will also have a vineyard visit with Cook'n With Class Uzès sommelier to local wine makers to learn about wine as well as to enjoy a wine tasting session. In the evening, you will have dinner at a fine-dining restaurant selected by the chef.


On this day, you will prep for tonight's cocktail dinner as well as for your three-course lunch. Not only that, you will also enjoy an evening cocktail party with invited guests accompanied with musical entertainment, wine, and lots of fun.


Today is your departure day and check-out by 10:00 a.m.

Included excursions

During your cooking holiday, some of the excursions may include visits to the markets of Nimes, Uzès, Saint Quentin-la-Poteries, visits to local producers of snails, safran, wine and cheese, horse-drawn carriage ride through the French countryside and more. Excursions available depend on season and weather and are subject to change.

Chef Eric Fraudeau is an instructor and the owner of Cook’n With Class. He has over 30 years of professional culinary experience acquired both in France and abroad. He enjoys sharing his passion for and knowledge of French cuisine with visiting travelers.


This intensive cooking holidays will take place at a school located in Arpaillargues, just five minutes drive from the Medieval city of Uzès. They are located at the doorstep to Provence in what has been coined, the Gard Provencal.

You will be focusing on French cuisines during your holidays. You will go from the simple to elaborate meals such as bread, pastries as well as desserts and main dishes, highlighting the fresh and local produce of the south of France.

Daily breakfast will be served. All lunches during the days of your cooking classes including three to four dinners are included in the price. There will be one dinner at a selected gastronomic restaurant. Please let Cook'n With Class Uzès know in advance about any of your allergies or other food restrictions that they should be aware of.

Things to do (optional)

When you're not in your cooking class or excursions, you may visit the nearby city of Nîmes, Avignon, or Aigues Mortes. Uzès is a lovely medieval and historic city whose streets are paved with cobblestones. The Duke's place which faces the town hall is open for public. Not only that, you may enjoy the cafés, restaurants, and small shops of the city.

The village of Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie is renowned for its artisan potters, painters, and craftsmen. Hence, on your free time, you might want to visit the pottery museum and drop into the ateliers of the many ceramists living and working in the village.

Arrival by airplane

You can either book your flight to arrive at Nîmes-Alès-Camargue-Cévennes Airport (FNI) or at Marseille Provence Airport (MRS). You may arrive at Marseille Provence Airport (MRS) if you plan to drive for one and a half hour to reach Cook'n With Class Uzès. You may contact Cook'n With Class Uzès for car rentals information. Cook'n With Class Uzès will provide you will full details on how to reach the villa once you have confirmed your booking.

Arrival by train
