Revitalizing Yoga Retreat USA

Join Conscious Course this summer to experience the art of food, nature, community, and yoga together! This is a weekend retreat that will guide you into the High Sierras and serve you the most magnificent food cooked on granite stones! You will practice yoga on rocks in the midst of the breathtaking Tahoe Forrest next to a mountain stream, a rejuvenating and grounding experience.

The first night you will spend in Nevada City. Friday night lodging will be communicated to you before arriving. The second night you will camp out near Lake Spaulding in the Tahoe Forrest. Bring a tent, mat, and sleeping bag, or ask Conscious Course if they have one to lend you.


Evening and morning yoga classes

Mari’s yoga is for everyone, beginner or advanced, women and men alike! Stretching your body after the hike and really focusing on your breathing will allow you to be present within yourself and your surroundings. The closeness to the elements supports this greatly!

You are encouraged to practice without a mat for once, straight on the ‘flat’ big rock, it works! Slight unevenness will make you even more aware of the position of your body and will add a little extra something to focus on besides your breath.

While encouraging her students to touch upon their personal limits, Mari always reminds you to keep in mind that you are working with the body and breath, not against it. Besides the physical bending, folding, and twisting, yoga on rocks may also stretch your mind by asking you to challenge your beliefs about yourself, your body, and your consciousness.


Day 1, Friday

You will meet the group on Friday at Riverhill Farm in Nevada City at 17:00. You will meet the farmer and get an insight into their work. After that, you will have dinner together and get to know each other. Friday night lodging will be communicated to you before arriving.

Day 2, Saturday

You will meet with the team on Saturday morning at FoxHound Espresso & Coffee Broaster. Locally roasted coffee and great breakfast available at Nevada City's hidden jem! From there, you will head to the trailhead, about 25 miles from Nevada City. A moderate five miles hike to camp will be broken up into segments and assisted by a guide and your team of porters.

The camp will be set for one evening and you will begin building your stove. You will have time to rest and explore the area before a sunset yoga class on rocks will be taught. Dinner will be prepared on rocks and served in courses. You will be spending one evening camped in the mountains.

Day 3, Sunday

There will be an energizing morning yoga class during sunrise. French toast prepared on rocks and coffee with fresh goat's milk will be served. The team will break camp and assist you on your return hike. You will be arriving back to Nevada City around 14:00. You will be sent off with a box of produce and other specialty foods.

Included excursions

On Friday, you will have an excursion to Riverhill Farm. Going to the farm will give you a nice glimpse into where the food served comes from.


Maricella Uribe
Maricella is a world traveler and is passionate about health. To her, yoga is a simple, calming, non-dogmatic practice as well as a tool to cultivate balance within oneself. She enjoys yoga in its raw authentic way and chooses to teach a simple, grounding yoga that allows you to arrive in your body and leaves you feeling light and beautiful. She is a RYT-200 licensed yoga teacher.


This retreat is located in Tahoe National Forest near Lake Spaulding, Nevada City, California. Nevada City in California's beautiful cold country is a very nice small getaway.


Arrival day (Friday)

Farm dinner featuring fresh Riverhill Farm produce.

Day 2

You will have a snack during your hike, fruit from Bonanza Gardens and locally made crackers. In the evening you will have a multiple course dinner prepared on rocks featuring the community’s best food.

Day 3

Your breakfast will be sourdough french toast and berries. You will also fresh goat milk.

Goodie box

Each participant will receive a box of items used during the expedition including produce, coffee, canned peaches, and smoked fish. The aim is to inspire people to be conscious and creative with all aspects of their food.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
