During this holiday, you will be staying in superior bedrooms in either the stylishly modern, super-comfortable en-suites at L’Espace or more traditional Maison de Maître, Briançon (all superior double rooms). The main venue, L'Espace, is set atop a small hill with a huge terrace and magnificent views across the valley.

The reconfiguration of the original 14th-century barn, with its combination of modern minimalism and traditional building materials, was the brain-child of Katie Elliott Armitage who has been running workshops at L'Espace for the last 12 years. The resulting unique ambiance reflects Katie's warm sense of style and hosting skills and continues to be the preferred locale of numerous weddings, musical concerts, and creative workshops.

The long weekend will kick off with an evening meal, prepared and cooked by Louise, welcoming you all to the course. On the first morning, you can accompany Louise to the largest weekly market in the region to discover the season’s best local produce. If you like, this could include a pastry and coffee at the market rather than breakfast at the accommodation. The group will return to the venue for lunch followed by an afternoon of cooking.

After breakfast, on morning two and three, you are free to relax and spoil yourself in the beautiful surroundings, by one of the two pools, or take a walk through the stunning countryside. Extra cookery classes can also be arranged as can visits to local producers or food stores.

All three afternoons will be spent with hands-on cooking and preparing the evening meal together. Louise will demonstrate some of the more complex dishes if necessary teaching you how to prepare meat, fish, seafood, and vegetables. It will be all hands on deck, slicing, chopping, searing, and roasting. You can participate as much or as little as you like.

Travel day, you will be sent information regarding transportation to Les Soeurs Anglaises (pick-ups are generally late afternoon) from Angouleme train station and Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport (EGC). Welcome, meet and greet dinner at the house.

Morning at the marché. After a light lunch, there will be an introduction to L'Espace Studio where the evening meal will be discussed and prepared.

Free morning to relax. Light lunch followed again by discussing and preparing the evening menu together.
