I have been attending creative courses and retreats with Circle of Misse for almost two years and I cannot express enough how wonderful the setting, the atmosphere and the food are, but above all I am impressed with the quality of my writing that keeps on flourishing with every visit. A lot can be said about the picturesque and peaceful French countryside, about the beauty of the house, and the Michelin-star-like dishes, but Wayne and Aaron are what makes Circle of Misse what it is: an oasis of creativity.
The constant encouragement and support I've received from Wayne and Kirstan have helped me improve my writing considerably and turned me into the writer I am today. The retreats here are the best gift I've ever given myself and cannot talk highly enough about the feeling of community they nourish, the friendship they offer and the conversations around the dinner table. Circle of Misse has become a family for me (and for any others) and I will continue to come here every year for as long as humanly possible.
This was my seventh visit to Circle of Misse Creative Holidays (6 in France and 1 in Spain) and, like a Stradivarius violin, the experience gets better and better. Aaron and Wayne thank you again for giving this well-matured gal from Perth memories that last long after I arrive home. Your food is amazing. Can't forget the wild boar ragout with pasta and the faultless chocolate fondant. In September 2015, Circle of Misse France was held at a property near Poitiers owned by the incomparable Eva-Lotte and Peter at La Pomme d'Or in La Chapelle Mouliere. A gorgeous venue. Thank you Eva-Lotte and Peter! I simply loved my "Swedish" lunch. I also spent a week at C of M in Thouars. An excellent experience. But food and venues are parts of life at Misse. I wrote and edited my memoir, indulged myself in creative writing, listened and contributed to the conversations between other writers and readers, and wandered the market town of Thouars. Looking forward to my visits in 2016.

I am back from Circle of Misse after a wonderful and productive week of writing encouraged by Wayne and Kirsten, with admirable culinary support from Aaron, as always. It’s the best way of spending a week and I highly recommend it. Also, I enjoyed great hospitality from Eva-Lotte and Peter at La Pomme d'Or in La Chapelle Mouliere, where Circle of Misse took place. It was a beautiful part of France near Poitiers. Peter's paella is just to die for!
I spent three weeks on a writing retreat at San Juan des Los Terreros in Spain. Imagine mountains, desert, palm trees, a wide promenade leading into the quaint Spanish town, marvelous accommodation a stone's throw from the Mediterranean, and luscious food. Hosts Wayne Milstead and Aaron Tighe do excellent; very well indeed. I enjoyed the company of other writers, movie nights and book readings. All in all, it was the most relaxing, productive writing time of my life.

We had a fantastic day with Aaron and Wayne. It was like hanging out with cool friends who have a neat place in the beautiful French countryside. They plan ahead really well for your visit; we filled out a questionnaire about what we were interested in cooking and learning. We really did learn some excellent tips. We started the day with coffee and talked about the ingredients and the plan and then we spent the day cooking, eating, drinking, and chatting. We made a lot of things that were on our questionnaire.
Aaron and Wayne know a lot about food, wine, and restaurants all over the world. They gave us excellent recommendations for the rest of our Loire visit plus some places for our upcoming San Francisco trip. The day is truly customized to you. It's super fun! I would also note that their house is under construction right now, so we had our class at an alternate location. It was still really nice and a neat, old building. I would highly recommend a cooking day with Aaron and Wayne!
