Château les Merles is a luxurious 4-star hotel between nature and vineyards. Château les Merles offers four different room types and four spacious villas to accommodate you. All of the rooms were recently renovated and combine a contemporary design with the elegance of the 17th century chateau.

Double room

The double room is in a modern design with a black wooden floor. This room has separable beds, TV, Wi-Fi, phone, bathrobes, welcome products, hair dryer, and satin slippers. You can enjoy the view on the golf course or the prune trees.

Double deluxe room

The double deluxe room is in a contemporary and stylish design. It is a spacious room with the view on the swimming pool. The room has TV, Wi-Fi, phone, bathrobes, welcome products, hair dryer, and satin slippers. To add one additional bed is possible.

Sunday: Arrival

Sunday is your arrival day at Château les Merles. They will welcome you with a glass of Méthode Traditionnelle and appetizers. In the evening, they will invite you for an aperitif in the restaurant and serve you a daily changing three-course suggestion du chef menu in the restaurant Les Merles.

Monday: Cooking lesson and wine chateau

Breakfast buffet awaits you at 08:30 in the morning. The cooking lesson starts at 09:30 and begins with an introduction and practice course about cutting techniques and the use of herbs. Afterwards, the multilingual chef de cuisine will instruct you how to cook a delicious three-course menu, which you will taste for your lunch. Château les Merles will give you all the recipes of the cooked dishes.

In the afternoon, you visit a local wine producer, where you will taste and get to know in depth the Bergerac wines. The dinner is a three-course menu in the restaurant.

Tuesday: Vegetable garden and cooking lesson

Tuesday starts with the breakfast buffet at 08:30. Afterwards, Château les Merles will guide you to their on-site organic vegetable garden. You will explore the ingredients that are used for the restaurant and your exquisite five-course dinner cooking lesson. You will have a two-course lunch menu.

In the afternoon, you are free to explore the beautiful region and in the evening, you will try the five-course menu that you learned how to cook in the morning.

Wednesday: Foie gras and leisure time

The breakfast buffet opens at 08:30 and at 09:30, the trip to a Foie gras producer begins, where you learn all that is to know about this specialty of Périgord and become a specialist yourself. Afterwards, Les Merles serves you a two-course menu and the afternoon is free for you to make your own plans.

In the evening, they will welcome you back in the restaurant with a delicious three-course dinner à la suggestion du chef.

Thursday: Market and theme afternoon

The breakfast buffet opens again at 08:30 and afterwards, at 09:30, Château les Merles will take you to a local market of the season, where you will have enough time to stroll around and discover all the typical French offers. The lunch consists of a two-course menu and in the afternoon, the chef de cuisine entertains you with a demonstration of regional dishes and their preparation.

In the evening, you will first have a wine tasting of the best Château les Merles wines and then the restaurant spoils you with an exquisite four-course dinner menu that consists of the most famous and successful local dishes.

Friday: Departure

In the morning, you can enjoy the delicious breakfast buffet for the last time and afterward, you will say goodbye as your tasteful stay at Château les Merles comes to an end. %Note: The program is a general one and can change depending on offer and weather conditions.

You will have a trip to a local wine producer with a tour through the estate, explanations about their wine production and the Bergerac wines followed by a wine tasting of at least 6 different wines of the region.

Foie gras

You will have a trip to a local Foie gras producer with a tour that will explain the making of Foie gras in detail, how they treat the goose, how Foie gras can be differentiated and why it is so popular in the Périgord region

Local market

You will visit a local French market where you will have enough time to discover typical French specialties, because as you know, the French are famous for their markets and it is a must-have experience.

Château les Merles is located in the beautiful Dordogne region. It is 10 minutes away from the historic town Bergerac that is known for its excellent wines like Monbazillac. The chateau is also close to the Dordogne valley that is displays many famous chateaux and towns like Chateau Beynac and Sarlat. Arrival by airplane

Please book your flights to arrive at Bordeaux Airport (BOD). Then rent a car at the airport and drive to Château les Merles, which takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Arrival by train

Take train to Bergerac then take a taxi to the hotel.
