This unique program offers you the opportunity to be immersed in French culture, which will allow you to take in the language easier, as well as enjoy French gastronomy. During this holiday, you will get to cook, taste wine, visit beautiful châteaux, and learn about many aspects of this wonderful country's culture!
The property of la Mazure is made up of many separate areas, which combine to form a unified and cohesive whole. This ensemble is totally adapted to receive guests and allow them to discover the beauty of the setting.
The Château de la Mazure was built at the end of the 19th century, originally intended as a place to welcome guests. Continuing in this spirit, today the property serves as a place for hosting language courses, seminars, and weddings.
The property stretches over almost 200 hectares of land, comprising of woods, fields, lakes, and farmlands. The typical landscapes of the Mayenne countryside allow you to discover and immerse yourself in all kinds of natural wildlife: pheasants, partridges, deer, and wild boar can all be seen roaming around the heart of the property.
Les communs area used to be the center of activity at la Mazure; here, the gardeners and sharecroppers kept a barnyard, stables, and kennels, which helped them maintain and run the property. Newly restored, these buildings host functions and social events in a modern setting while conserving the authenticity of their past.
The château also has a vegetable garden, which is currently undergoing refurbishment. Hosting seminars and weddings provides an excellent opportunity to show guests the many possibilities of cultivating an organic vegetable garden. It is planned to install several educational vegetable patches to raise awareness of the environment.
The Château de la Mazure lies at the edge of a 60-hectare forest, a testament to the grandeur of its period. Built overlooking a monumental entrance, the living rooms were spread out to offer panoramic views of a broad landscape. At the time, guests were first welcomed in the grand salon before dining in the grande salle à manger. Male guests would then enjoy a cigar in the fumoir, while mesdames could be found chatting in the petit salon.
This immersion program includes an introduction to French administration, simplified to avoid spending all five days on this topic. Additionally, some etiquette activities that will help you acquire French good manners.
Through the "Cuisinez-vous le français?" you will discover a great way to practice your French without suffering. The concept is based on little videos associating a cooking recipe and a language point. You will learn more easily and have fun with your group.
French language classes include a highly structured grammar program, a variety of language activities, and work on interactive documents. Regarding French lifestyle and culture, you will get an introduction to life in France and learn about French gastronomy and wine. Your course will include a French cooking class.
You will also learn about French administration, the history of France throughout the years, as well as French architecture, art, and culture. French geography and landscapes will be included in the lessons, too.
Throughout your stay, you will also enjoy some visits and dinners in other properties. Please note that the program activities begin on Monday, but you should arrive on Sunday in order not to miss anything from the itinerary. The following itinerary shows the activities in the Relax package.
During this language and culinary holiday, you will be staying in Forcé, France.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included during this vacation. Simple but not simplistic, the cuisine at la Mazure is based on simple recipes using seasonal products. Whenever possible, the fruit and vegetables grown on site are used. A small shop will soon be added to the site, offering products from the Mayenne region. There will also be some lunches and dinners outside the château, mainly at similar properties.
Numerous attractions and events bring Laval and its region alive: museums, theater, shows, festivals, and more. La Mazure is also well situated for visiting several tourist attractions of international reclaim, such as Mont Saint-Michel and the Valley of la Loire and its châteaux.
The Mayenne is a region of quality products. Agriculture and livestock farming have a strong presence in the area and the small producers that supply the property are just a few kilometers away: Trout from Parné, cider and apple juice from Andouillé, organic meat from Maine, cheese from Entrammes, and more.
La Mazure has been hosting linguistic courses for more than 30 years. These English courses for adolescents and English and French immersions for adults follow the methodology created by Aude le Marié, which provides the participants with the tools required when learning English.
A trip to la Mazure is often the opportunity to take a break. There is nothing like a bit of sport to strengthen personal ties and unwind. On offer is tennis, badminton, nature photography on site, treetop adventure, horse riding, golf, kayaking, walking, and more.
For 500 EUR more, you can get access to Thursday's excursions, which include a visit to the Cointreau Museum in Angers, free time to visit the tapestry gallery and discover the Closel wine estate.
For 500 EUR more, you can get access to Tuesday's excursions, which include a visit to Eric Bordelet cider castle, a lunch and visit to Lassay-les-Châteaux castle, a visit to Mont Saint-Michel, and enjoy your dinner there.
The weekend following this vacation will offer a more adaptable program. Concerning the activities, you will be introduced to a wide range of partners offering many kinds of activities. Located in different areas of Paris, they will adapt to your wishes: art galleries, theaters, markets, you name it.
