We went to the Waterfall Villas for 5 days. Prior to our arrival, we communicated with Fateh via email and we also spoke on the phone. She was very attentive to our individual needs and requests, and provided us with great advice with regard to our trip. The airport transfer was pre-arranged, we were advised on a variety of wireless service providers, and our room was ready for a wonderful stay.

I loved doing yoga with Fateh every morning. Our backdrop was a beautiful waterfall. I can't say enough about the staff. Everyone from the room service to security were fantastic. A very special thank you for the kitchen staff who attended to our every need and accommodated our meal times around our spa treatments. We greatly enjoyed the massages and facial and body treatments, as well as chiropractic experience. There is no question Fateh has created a paradise that is worth experiencing.

My husband and I had an amazing stay in Costa Rica and Waterfall Villas was the highlight of the trip. We ate all our meals there and they were amazing! Whether you are vegan or not, the food is spectacular. We asked ahead of time if they would use as much local fruits and veggies that were not available in the states as possible, which the very well trained chef met that challenge beautifully. Our room was beautiful and included a hot tub on our private porch. We did a package that included a waterfall blessing ceremony, massage, romantic lunch by the waterfalls, and a trip to the national park. Everything was arranged for us and was top notch. Thanks for a honeymoon we will never forget.

My wife and I had the best time at Waterfall Villas. We ate all our meals there and didn't regret it at all. Every meal was great and the service was great. Most of our trip in Costa Rica was busy and adventurous, so it was so nice to come to the villas and relax. The waterfalls aren't the raging kind, but are beautiful and amazing to lay next to or in. It is an easy hike to the bottom of the falls and there is another trail that we explored a little of, but there was a lot of foliage since it was the start of the rainy season.

Since we went during the start of the rainy season, we had the whole place to ourselves! We stayed in the goddess suite and it was perfect. The room is one big room, even the bathroom, which my wife and I loved. The shower and bed were the best we experienced and the balcony was a nice place to relax. Taking a taxi to dominical beach was easy and fairly close and it was beautiful, as well. We spent most of our time at the villas though just exploring the grounds and resting. I highly recommend going to this place if you want to get away and just enjoy a simple and relaxing time. Fateh did a great job taking care of us and the rest of the staff were really responsive, as well. We hope to return someday. I am already miss the food, sounds, and comforts!

My wife and I stayed in the butterfly room. It was big and awesome. They collected our dirty laundry in the mornings and had it clean and folded by the afternoon! We could hear the waterfall from bed and could enjoy the wildlife of the rainforest from our private balcony. The property is filled with breathtaking spots, including waterfalls that can be hiked, mountain trails, and a deck for yoga classes.

We paid extra for the on-site dinner each night and it was better than we could have imagined. We basically had a private chef and server while we enjoyed the ambience of the candles, waterfall, and incense. The staff and owners were always calm, smiling, and helpful. We did lose electricity (along with the rest of the town) for a few hours during a storm, so make sure that you bring a flashlight. We can't wait to visit again!

What a wonderful place to catch a break. The setting next to the little waterfall, in the jungle, relaxing atmosphere, great vegan food (we only had the breakfast), friendly staff, and close to attractions - we just loved our week there. The only down side is the road close to the hotel. When the trucks come down the hill, they can be pretty loud. In addition, there seems to be regular road construction that easily adds 30 minutes to your drive. If you are looking for peaceful and healing, this is the place to go. If in addition you want to enjoy excellent vegan food, book your trip.

My husband and I are really into yoga and eating vegetarian food. We have extremely busy jobs and were looking for a place that would allow us to relax and disconnect from the crazy outside world. After searching for days online for the ideal honeymoon location, I found Waterfall Villas in Costa Rica. From the second I began to inquire about Waterfall Villas, Fateh was extremely helpful and responsive to my emails. I emailed her so many times prior to our trip asking questions and she was always so responsive and helpful.

When we finally arrived, we felt like we had entered paradise. The rooms are so beautifully decorated and the landscaping is amazing. We were taking pictures and wandering around by the waterfalls for hours. The first Monday that we were there, my husband and I went down to the waterfall and we had it all to ourselves. We joked, "This is Monday?", when we typically are at work stuck in front of a computer. I could go on and on about how much we loved Waterfall Villas, however I will just cover a few main items.

The food is absolutely amazing and honestly the best food we have ever eaten anywhere. We never wanted to leave and explore, simply because we loved the food so much. The vegan lasagna is heavenly and will be embedded in our tastebuds for ever. I keep telling Fateh to let me know if she ever publishes a cookbook!

Service - Sergio was a sheer delight and ensured we always had what we needed. He was so patient as we practiced our Spanish with him and he was great speaking English with us. The chefs in the kitchen were always greeting us with a smile and created masterpieces on our plates at every meal. We took pictures of all of our plates. The night watchmen was always kind and I felt very safe knowing he was there in case we needed anything after hours.

The owners are so friendly, helpful, and hospitable. Fateh will ensure that you have all of the information you need to have a wonderful and safe stay and she also teaches great yoga classes. She even showed me some beautiful pieces of jewellery that she had for sale from her world travels and I bought the most beautiful necklace. She has an amazing energy about her and illuminates it to everyone around her! Franco leads the most amazing hike down to a very large waterfall. I highly suggest you go on it, but make sure you have the stamina to walk and get back up the hill. I wish I had my Fitbit on that day to track my steps! Franco is a delight to speak with and will share any information about how he developed a balanced ecosystem around the property.

We stayed in the butterfly suite and had a large tub to relax in. It was so beautiful and the deck overlooked the waterfall. We went during the rainy season and every day at 4 p.m, we would make the most delicious Costa Rican coffee and would sit on the deck and just listen to the rain and watch the water flow down stream. This was one of our favorite past times! We would always take our water pitcher down to the kitchen before we went to bed and fill it up for the night. Since you are in the Baru Rainforest, you are in your rooms by 10 p.m. It was great to catch up on sleep and wake up fresh for another day in paradise. Although we loved disconnecting from technology, we are big movie buffs. We brought our laptop with some movies stored on a drive and watched them in bed in the evenings.

While we were there, we each scheduled two massages as part of package. They were incredible and so relaxing. My husband has a ton of knots in his back and he can never find anyone in the U.S to truly work them out. He chose the bamboo jaguar massage for both of his sessions and finally felt like he was able to get some of his knots out! Please listen to Fateh when she tells you to pick up a phone card in Costa Rica. Although she told me to do this, I still went and picked up one in the U.S first. It did not work when I got there and wanted to make a safe arrival call. Sergio was so nice and had one of the taxi drivers pick up a local phone card for me so that I could make the call. Just listen to everything Fateh suggests and you will be A-OK!

To this day, I continue to keep in touch with Fateh on Facebook and she was even kind enough to share one of her amazing recipes with me. My husband and I both hope to come back to Waterfall Villas again many times throughout our lifetime and also hope to accompany Fateh on one of her retreats to Bali. Waterfall Villas will continue to remain as one of the most amazing places that my husband and I have ever visited. We will forever hold this little slice of heaven in our hearts and hope to visit again soon! Final thoughts, just know that if you choose Waterfall Villas, you are choosing to relax, disconnect from technology, slow down, enjoy nature, and soothe your soul.

My partner and I decided we wanted to escape the cold and create some impromptu plans to elope in beautiful Costa Rica. A search for vegan weddings on Google helped us find this gem of a place. Right off the bat, we were impressed with how responsive they were to our initial inquiries. They gave us quotes and ideas and got us so excited that we decided to book right away without finalizing our wedding plans. The owner who also served as a wedding consultant jumped on a Skype call with us to go over lots of questions and help us think about the type of event we wanted. She had lots of ideas and made everything so easy!

As the plans developed, we decided to invite a few more people and again they were so accommodating at making adjustments and accommodations. There was a total of 8 of us (all vegans, some of us gluten free) and it was recommended that we would enjoy the convenience of signing up for the meals each night. Best move ever! Some of us are a bit of culinary epicureans and were blown away with the creativity, the elegance, the ambiance, the service, and the kindness of all of the staff.

I don't even know where to start with how impressed we were about how amazing the actual wedding was. They coordinated and arranged everything, flowers, hair, make up, massages, officiant, dinner, reception, booklets, champagne toast, photographer, and wedding cake. No stress, no paying each one, and no running around and following up. We just laid back and went where they told us when. What an incredible blessing to have such a beautiful and special time and get to spend all of it with our friends or relaxing beforehand. The scene for the wedding brought me to tears, the altar was so beautiful with fresh native flowers, shells, leaves, glitter (YES!), and all in the natural setting on the waterfall. They even taught themselves how to make a vegan and gluten free cake just for us (three layers). It was amazing!

Everyone had different unique beautiful rooms with a view, air-conditioner, and very comfy beds. The location is just 10 minutes up the road from a gorgeous beach where we swam and surfed, ate at shops, and picked up some arts and crafts. It was definitely the best vacation we have ever had and we have done a bit of traveling and to top it off, a perfect 10 vegan wedding WOW! We are back home now and dreaming of the delicious food and peaceful place. If you are considering this place for a vacation or wedding, just do it and put all your worries away!

No matter the reason, you won't be disappointed staying at the Waterfall Villas. I am a single mom of two children. My 12 year old daughter has an incurable, degenerative disease and I am her full time caregiver. As you can imagine, times can be tough emotionally and physically. I was at a point in my life where i needed to relax, rejuvenate, revive, and restore. I am forever grateful that i found all the above at the Waterfall Villas.

Before i even booked my stay at the villas, I spoke with Fateh, the owner over the phone. I explained my need for a little respite. Fateh took me under her wing and immediately helped with all the arrangements! I barely had to think, which was a good thing considering my state of mind! My healing began before i even left the States! Thanks to Fateh, everything went smoothy from the booking process to the airport transportation to the villas with my private wonderful driver!

Upon arrival to the villas, I instantly knew i made the right decision. The grounds were impeccable and beautifully decorated in a peaceful Balinese style. Perfect for the tranquility I needed. The entire villa is built with the Balinese style in mind along with being eco-friendly. It is nestled in the lush rainforest right next to the most relaxing cascade and river that will calm any soul!

I was welcomed by Fateh and instantly felt at home. My room was breathtaking! Again, very tastefully designed and decorated in the Balinese-style. I had a balcony overlooking the water and jungle. This was the perfect spot to take in the peaceful sounds of nature. I even had a private meditation garden outside my room! The food! Oh wow, the food! I have never felt healthier! Going in to this, I was not a vegan, but after eating all organic, local, and sugar-free, my diet lifestyle has changed forever! The food was pure goodness prepared with love, passion, and beautiful presentations!

During my week stay, I choose the diva's detox package. This included 2 therapeutic massages with pure essential oils. One lava rock detox massage, which was done with clay and a coffee exfoliation, and a chocolate body mask. This detox massage is a Mayan ritual, which lasted a glorious 2 hours. All my delicious meals were included along with 3 one-hour Kundalini yoga classes taught by Fateh. This spiritual practice of Kundalini yoga was done right next to the cascades. What a way to start your day! These yoga classes also change my life. I now practice this special type of yoga daily now! With this package, I truly felt like a goddess.

Faith and Franco can also organize other healing practices, activities, and workshops for you outside of the villa. One of those is with Shamanic practitioner, Sabina. She offers a soul retrieval and spirit animal workshop. Along with seeing Sabina, I went to see the Reiki, spiritual healer, Oliver Hurler. Both healing processes were amazing! I also went horseback riding, zip lining, and even jumped off a waterfall (with the help of a guide of course). I have never felt so liberated! Any activity, including just relaxing at the beach, will be organized for you. Just say the word and Franco will set up the times, drivers, etc. Easy!

I can not say enough positive things about the Waterfall Villas! You will not be disappointed, I promise! My only regret was not taking a before and after photo of myself. What a life changing experience I had! One that I will never forget! And one that I will carry with me forever! Thank you Fateh, Franco, and to all at the Waterfall Villas, you provided relaxation, rejuvenation, restoration, respite, and rebirth of my soul! I am forever grateful!

I wasn't completely sure what to expect when we arrived, the website is not very informational. However, because our flight was delayed and we opted for the luxury transfer, we ended up arriving a few minutes past 8 p.m, which meant the kitchen was closed and employees long gone, so no dinner, we were starving. The driver did not bother to tell us this information or we would have had him stop somewhere to eat. We had already paid the driver and even tipped him when the security person told us. He also told us that they had called the driver and told him that we would be arriving and that there would not be any dinner. The driver left very quickly and didn’t wait to offer to take us somewhere to get something to eat. We went to bed very hungry and unhappy.

The next day, the food was really delicious, but most meals contained nuts (pecans, etc.), which my husband is not a fan of. However, we did not specify no pecans or walnuts when we made the arrangements and my husband still enjoyed most of the food that did contain nuts. So, just be very specific about your dietary needs. Also, we requested the fish and eggs option for my husband (he is not a vegan), but he only got fish on two of the meals. The meals are pretty pricey, but they really are delicious and very filling.

The place is beautiful and extremely peaceful. We really enjoyed our time walking down the waterfalls as far as we could. They water was kind of low, but everything was still very beautiful. It was very nice to take a quick trip in a cab to Dominical to get lunch and check out the beach but mostly to get some free Wi-Fi.

Franco arranged for some excursions and then also assisted in changing our plans to fly back to San Jose instead of taking the luxury transfer (which isn’t anything more than a van with air conditioning). I highly recommend this option over the van transfer. A quick 30-minute flight and you get to see the island from the sky. I don’t recommend this place if you are a person that needs to be wired up, there isn’t anything to do (not even a TV) after dinner so bring a book or your eReader. But, we loved every minute there! We had a fabulous couples massage at the waterfalls and then a very delicious picnic lunch at the waterfalls, with delicious fruits, sweet breads, and even chocolates. All vegan!

With yoga platforms in the middle of trees, stone, waterfall cascade, and sunlight, inviting you for a meditation environment. The facilitators of this establishment are by far the best group of people you will have the chance to meet. I continually return to this spiritual place to clear my heart, mind, and body. A true wellness retreat. Yes, they have pampering, as well (ex. massage, activities, and such), but the clearing of the body with vegan meals, teachings and meditation by Fateh, and exercise through yoga truly complete what is wellness. This is a must have place.

We traveled to Waterfall Villas from the bright beach bustle of Manuel Antonio. Just standing on the property was an invitation to take a deep breath. We were warmly greeted by Franco, who led us to our sumptuous Balinese-inspired room, cradled in the jungle, and overlooking a stream. Before exploring, we sat on our balcony and listened to the soothing sound of the waterfall. Owners, Fateh and Franco, have experienced Bali as a healing and spiritual place and they wanted to model their six-room inn on the imagery of that area.

Our package of three nights included breakfast and the first night's meal. We chose one cooked and one raw meal and both were delicious. All the foods are organic, local, and sugar-free. We loved the raw ravioli with pesto sauce and the cooked vegan paella, rich with cauliflower and artichokes. And, our berry tart was a fantastic finish to the meal. The portions were plentiful and the desserts were spectacular. Both Franco and Fateh understand how to make people feel honored and at home. The service was elegant and personal, and the other guests were interesting.

At first, it was odd to be without Internet, but we quickly got used to it. The waterfalls themselves were a series of gentle cascades and we spent time watching and listening to them. Franco helped us orchestrate a trip to Corcovado National Park and was informative and attentive without every being intrusive. We loved our stay and highly recommend this to those who want a respite with creative and healthy food. Special note, another couple there celebrated their wedding anniversary. Franco and his team set up an elegant lunch for them by the waterfall, complete with champagne, white tablecloth, and impeccable service.

I want to write this review, even though I have never been to this property. I had a lot of loss this year. I had a friend who went to this beautiful place to help her through her hard time. I made my reservation with Fateh and I was blown away from the beginning of the journey. She called me in the states to make sure that I was comfortable and that I knew everything about the resort and the answer any questions. She sent all my paperwork exactly when she stated and took my deposit for the stay.

I am a single mom and after much searching, I was not able to find a sitter for my 7-year old son for ten days. I wrote Fateh regrettably and she said not to worry and that she would hold my deposit for another time. Well, last minute, I found a sitter and wrote her back. She was amazing stating that she would love to see me still and that I could still get my reservation back if I wanted. So, tomorrow I am suppose to leave and got struck with Strep Throat and unable to fly. This resort was not in my cards this time, but I will recommend Fateh to anyone that crosses her path. What a wonderful way to run a business and make people feel comfortable.

My husband, Dante, and I recently returned from our trip to Costa Rica at the Waterfall Villas. We had an amazing, unforgettable experience during our time there. First off, we are vegan, which is why we decided to stay at this particular resort. The food was out of this world! Everything was so fresh, the dishes were very creative, and the service was top notch. After eating there all week, Dante and I agree that we both need to step up our vegan cooking game! It was cool because each meal was a surprise. It is safe to say that every meal wowed us!

Both Franco and Fateh made us feel like we were right at home. Because we had visited on their off season, they upgraded our room to a jacuzzi room, which was such a very generous and nice surprise! Fateh has such an interesting background and is a true inspiration. I did yoga for the first time with her and I learned a lot from her just in that one hour class. Franco is awesome, as well. Dante and I interacted mostly with him and he was a joy to be around. He took great care of us and coordinated all of our excursions. He helped us stay worry free by setting up all of our taxis and telling us what was needed for each tour. I would highly recommend booking the tours during your stay if you like adventure. We had the perfect set up, 5 full days, 3 tours days, and 2 days to relax at the villas. The Manuel Antonio tour, whale watching, and the horseback riding to the waterfalls were so much fun - life changing adventures that we will never forget.

This resort is unlike any other resort we have stayed at. It is small, personal and very peaceful, and laid back. We really loved how relaxing and secluded we felt from the outside world. It was nice to disconnect, no TVs, and we did not use any internet. We did a lot of reading and exploring the waterfalls and rainforest. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained and the staff were friendly and made us feel welcomed the entire time. This is not your typical all inclusive honey moon resort, but instead a unique, jungle, nature escape!

We loved the Bali themed designs and art throughout the room and resort. The fact that it was an eco-friendly made it that much better, as well. To stay here, you must be appreciative and respectful of nature. There were absolutely no insects or bugs of any sort in our room, but there are however many forms of wildlife outdoors. We embraced every second of this and loved being in this type of environment. Every night, we slept with the screen door open, so we could hear the running waterfall and rainstorms. It was a peaceful heavenly paradise!

Overall, I would highly recommended visiting the waterfall villas. I am more inspired than ever to continue to do my best to live an eco-friendly vegan lifestyle. Dante and I would definitely consider visiting the villas again. We are really missing those meals right now and the constant sound of the waterfalls. As I mentioned, this is not a typical resort like atmosphere, but instead a very personal relaxing escape, and a chance to really disconnect and recharge.

This is the ideal place to spend a honeymoon. It is not a commercial place dropped on an island with your typical tacky music and dripping with corporate sweat. It is an amazing retreat center tucked away in a serene jungle on the south Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The best part? The food. My husband and I wanted a vegan honeymoon and found that at most places, they tell you to just show up and tell the chef you are vegan once you get there and they will figure something out. I didn't want to pay all that money to have all my food, just be something a chef with no experience making vegan food threw together at the last minute to accommodate me. Here, they make gourmet vegan meals that are so fresh and delicious. They gave us three courses for every dinner, fresh juice or smoothies with every meal and amazing coffee with breakfast.

Franco and Fateh are the owners and took care of everything for us. Anything we needed they took care of immediately. We planned all our activities the day before and Franco just quickly made the reservations for us, including the cab rides, so all we had to do was show up. The resort itself is amazingly beautiful. Since we went during the wet season, there were some openings at the hotel and we were upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi! That was a really nice surprise when we arrived. We could fall asleep and wake up to the calming sounds of the rainforest.

Everyday, we looked forward to the food we would have at each meal! That is not something that usually happens for vegans. Since it was our honeymoon, the last thing we wanted was to be overcharged for under-par bowls of veggies. Honestly, if you are vegan and looking for more than the kind of resort you see in commercials on TV, this is the place for you.

We were able to try all sorts of adventure sports that we never thought we would try and get a feel for the real community of people and understand the way of life for the people of Costa Rica. I had a great time chatting with the locals and hearing all their stories about what happens every day there. Everyone was so friendly. Also, Costa Rica is so green! Not only a scenic and beautiful natural landscape, but everyone is so concerned with conservation. They co-exist so well with the wildlife and the plant life and make a huge effort on recycling in ways the U.S absolutely does not.

It felt great seeing how the community all cared so much for their environment and all made a great effort to conserve the earth they live on and reduce unnecessary waste. I not only had a fantastic time, but I learned so much about a part of the world I had never been before. I will remember it for many years to come. I highly recommend this hotel and urge you to give your business to honest people, like Fateh and Franco, who promote a compassionate and peaceful lifestyle.
