"This is a very lovely hotel near old town Eureka. Upon arrival, it appears there are 3 different facilities. Two looked like Victorian bed & breakfasts, with a third building across the street. This is the facility I stayed in. It is more like a traditional hotel attached to the restaurant. "

"The hotel was very clean and cozy. The staff is extremely friendly & helpful. The hotel offers a free daily glass of wine with hor d'oeuvres, as well as evening cookies & tea in the lobby. Breakfast was included which consisted of coffee/tea, fruit and bread/pastry buffet with a hot entree option. The food was very good and the waitress was so friendly and made sure customers had everything they needed and offered advice on things to do in the area."

"The room had free wifi and cable tv. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom had lots of amenities including hair dryer, robes, and toiletries. The bed was very comfortable. There is no air conditioning in the room, other than opening the windows. This was fine because it is not far from the water and the temperature is cool outside. There is a heater in the room if needed."

"Overall, my stay was wonderful and I will definitely stay there again when visiting the area. I am very interested in seeing the other part of the hotel, the Victorian style house. I am wondering if it is more like a traditional bed & breakfast style hotel."

"This hotel is so beautiful! The people on reception are friendly and welcoming and kind and thoughtful! You are treated as though you are close family! The rooms that we had were just superb - really clean and spacious, delightfully old fashioned and wonderfully luxurious!! I don't think that I have ever stayed in a better hotel. The dining area has a wonderful ambience. If you'd like to spoil yourself or someone else - this hotel is the way to do it."

"Friendly, knowledgeable, and professional staff on all levels. Restaurant 301 is outstanding, served with utilizing fresh, organic, local food. Have stayed here three times and each one has featured an excellent hot breakfast, in addition to homemade pastries, and chocolate eclairs - if you're lucky enough to grab them before they're gone! Rooms are very comfortable with clean, quality bathrooms, thymes toiletries, and cozy robes. The complimentary wine and attractive bar above the lobby are a plus."

"We were so pleased with our stay. Our room was lovely and the amenities were those of a much higher priced hotel. When we arrived, we were served with complimentary wine with appetizers at happy hour in the lobby. Then, it was followed by a delicious meal in the Restaurant 301, returning to the lobby for tea and cookies at 8 p.m. The staff were professional, accommodating, and always pleasant. Jason gave us insight to great tour spots. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and we will be back."

"The staff at the Carter House are amazing. Everyone is so friendly and professional. Jason, the bartender, was a pure delight. If you are ever in the area, this is definitely the place to stay. The complimentary breakfast and the happy hour wine are just a few reasons to stay. The employees are what will keep me coming back."

"This is an amazing hotel in an amazing town. It was my first and only trip to Eureka but I will definitely be back to this hotel. The architecture is remarkable in this side of town, this hotel is one of the centerpieces in town. I stayed in a bungalow type private home. It had a back deck with ample space to party and even had a barbecue."
