Discover Fond Doux Resort & Plantation, a 19th century French colonial resort in Soufriere, Saint Lucia. Imagine yourself in a place where delectable tropical fruit hangs from the trees above, where the smell of chocolate wafts by on warm, tropical breezes, where brilliantly plumed exotic birds call out from the canopy. Program

Day 1: Arrival, welcome dinner

You will be picked up at the airport and transferred to the villa.

Arrive at the villa and enjoy a grand welcome with island cocktails and dinner prepared by Freda and her assistants.

Day 2: Cooking class, village tour

Morning hands-on cooking class with Freda at the villa.

Tour the local village after lunch and relax on the nearby beach.

In the afternoon, enjoy local tropical cocktail tasting with a local bartender.

Next, prepare dinner together during afternoon class at the villa.

Day 3: Market visit, cooking class

Morning tour of the local farmers market followed by lunch at a local islands restaurant.

In the afternoon, enjoy a cooking class using ingredients you bought at the market.

Optional tour: After breakfast, hop aboard a bicycle for a leisure bike ride to the nearby town. Stop for a lunch at a local restaurant or street side vendor market stop. Walk off your lunch as you explore the town on your own. Dine tonight at you choice in one of the many tempting islands restaurants.

Day 4: Luxury cruise, excursions, picnic

All day excursions on the local island cruise. You will tour secluded island sites including the island walk in volcano.

Enjoy a fantastic lobster lunch buffet, with an early relaxing pool side picnic dinner with cocktails.

Optional tour: After breakfast, enjoy the islands local flora with guided hikes and walks through the tropical jungle to the peak of the piton with stops to enjoy and examine local flora and brigand hide-outs. This is a serious work-out. Later, back at your villa, you will enjoy a tropical relaxed served dinner with live music.

Day 5: Cooking class, excursion, free time

Morning hands-on cooking class at the villa.

Afternoon excursions of the Castries city.

Afternoon free time for shopping. Stock up on duty free shopping for French perfumes, local rum, leather hoods, jewelry, batik, local paintings.

Evening dinner while enjoying the local island sunset.

Day 6: Spa treatments, fishing session, celebration dinner

Ladies will enjoy a half day out the Resort Bamboo Door Spa. Gentlemen will enjoy a day out fishing with the local ocean fishing crew.

Optional tour: Today, you will be touring a local pottery maker studio. After breakfast, you will enjoy the ride to the small village of La Pointe. You will witness the art of local pottery making by pottery maker Leo Clifford who is an island favorite in making large coal pots, pipes, votive holders, and other unique creations. You will enjoy lunch at the neighboring village of Soufriere with great views of the town. Dinner will be at Dasheen Restaurant at the Ladera Resort.

Day 7: Departure

Goodbye breakfast and farewells.

A bus will transfer you to the airport.

The nearest airport to the location is Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). Caribbean Culinary Tours will pick you up from the airport. The pick-up is included in the price.
