Antigua and Barbuda Culinary Tours

Antigua is a tropical paradise located in the Leeward Island of the Caribbean. The island has a great repertoire of authentic local Caribbean and Antiguan dishes. Enjoy a day tour to the sister island of Barbuda, world famous for its pink sand beaches, along with a Barbuda Beach lobster lunch, this is a sure not-to-be-missed trip. You will be touring the Island of Antigua and discover its unique culinary repertoire. The island of Antigua has culinary influences from the Spanish, the French, and the English. You will enjoy dishes such as the pepper pot, curried conch, seasoned rice, snapper in banana leaves, and the famous Antigua black pineapple pie.

You will spend nine nights in a luxurious island accommodation just minutes away from the beach.

Day 1: Arrival

  • Pick up at the airport and transfer to the villa.
  • Arrive at the villa and enjoy a grand welcome with island cocktails and dinner prepared by Freda and her assistants.

Day 2: Cooking classes, excursion, cocktail tasting

  • Morning hands-on cooking class with Freda at the villa.
  • Tour the local village after lunch and relax on the nearby beach.
  • In the afternoon, enjoy local tropical cocktails tasting with a local bartender.
  • Later on, prepare dinner together during an afternoon class at the villa.

Day 3: Market visit, cooking classes, restaurant trip

  • Morning tour of the local farmers market followed by lunch at a local island restaurant.
  • Demonstration and tasting by local chef Jones, owner of Jones Island Restaurant and Catering.
  • Afternoon cooking class using ingredients you bought at the market.

Day 4: Boat ride, picnic

  • All day excursions on the local island cruise.
  • You will tour secluded off island sites, enjoy a fantastic lobster lunch buffet, with an early relaxing pool side picnic dinner with cocktails.

Day 5: Cooking class, excursion, picnic

  • Morning hands-on cooking class at the villa.
  • Afternoon excursions to the city town of St. Johns.
  • In the afternoon, you will have free time for shopping, stock up on duty free shopping for French perfumes, local rum, leather goods, jewelry.
  • Early beach picnic dinner while enjoying the local island sunset.

Day 6: Excursion

  • After breakfast, morning day trip to the sister island of Barbuda where you will enjoy a tropical lobster lunch on its world famous pink sand beaches.
  • In the afternoon, ladies will enjoy a spa treatment at the Galley Bay Resort and Spa. Gentlemen will enjoy the afternoon with a round of golf at the local golf resort.
  • Later on, have a light dinner prepared by Freda or you can have dinner on your own.

Day 7: Deep sea fishing tour

  • After breakfast, head off to your deep sea fishing tour off the coves on the island and enjoy the tour with local crew as you fish for the local catch.
  • You will get to enjoy the fruits of your labor with your catch of the day for lunch.
  • The evening is left for you to party like at the local nightclubs.

Day 8: Adventure activities

  • There is so much to see and do, here is a chance to decide what activities of your choosing to include:
  • Zip Line Tour is a series of nine cables and eleven platforms suspended high above the forest floor where you will be able to appreciate breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea.
  • Take the adventurous route to explore the surrounding area on a tour guided ATV tour (all-terrain vehicle). Drive along the country roads and through tropical forests of fig tree drive and see The Antigua Black Pineapple Farms and Mango Farms. Enjoy neighboring towns along the way where you can enjoy a swim or do some surfing.

Day 9: St. John's foodie walking tour

  • Put on some comfy shoes and get ready to experience some amazing tastes and some amazing sights while you make your way through the historic town of St. Johns, the capital city of Antigua.
  • Sample an abundance of street food and specialty foods prepared in small, quaint restaurants, and experience some off-the-beaten-path sightseeing while you’re at it.
  • This tour allows you to sample some of the local Antigua specialties. So bring your appetite!

Day 10: Departure

  • Goodbye breakfast and farewells.
  • Depending on your flight schedule, you might have time for relaxing at the beach or do some last minute shopping.
