Testimonials

  • Review by a traveler from Perth, Australia

"This was our first visit to the Cape Lodge Restaurant, and our goal was to have a fine dining experience in the Margaret River region for dinner. This, we have found to be a supremely difficult task because 90% of the establishments seem to shut down after 5PM and the ones which remain tend to be pretentious, overly expensive and/or serve ordinary food. "

"So on arrival at Cape Lodge, we chose the 4-course menu and settled in to be pleasantly surprised. Starting from the home made olive bread, through to the apple-shaped chicken liver parfait in plum jelly, to the rare smoked venison and the chef's signature dish - the chocolate mousse, salted caramel, and vanilla ice cream dessert, we were impressed at every turn. The food was complimented by thoughtful and respectful service reminiscent of the best restaurants in Australia. And what a location! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and our time at Cape Lodge. Full compliments to the chef and team. We will be back for sure."

"We dined at the restaurant during our recent stay at the resort. It certainly was not cheap, we chose the two course option, but it is definitely worthwhile. The food was great and the staff excellent, recommended!"

"Stunning private location and fabulous grounds, perfectly situated for winery tours and beautiful beaches. Forest suite was outstanding including magnificent views over lake. Weather was chilly at night during our stay so heated bathroom floor was a real bonus! Restaurant was exceptional, standard of cuisine was of the highest order, staff very attentive, nothing too much trouble. Outdoor pool very good, complimentary afternoon tea and wine tasting (own vines) every day. Would definitely return."

  • Review by Rob D., London, UK

"I have just spent three nights at Cape Lodge. Beautifully situated, in the middle of the Margaret River wine region, this hotel is a real delight. Our room was very comfortable in a block with views over the lake; even with a kookaburra regularly on the balcony. The restaurant was outstanding and it had a good wine list (although might have benefitted from a few older vintages). Would love to go back."

  • Review by Jamuspa, Bali, Indonesia

"As we drove down the eucalyptus lined country road, we saw a troop of kangaroos grazing on the grass meadow. What a welcoming site and dream come true! Minutes later we arrived at Cape Lodge, a quiet, restful and gracious place. From the room you could look over the lake, and our four-course dinner was an experience that ignited all my senses. It all came with a price, but, was it worth it? Yes, most definitely. It will be part of my memories that will last forever."

  • Review by Tatiara from Sydney, Australia

"We spent three nights here with friends exploring the wineries. We were upgraded to the Vineyard Residence, which is a three-bedroom villa within the manicured grounds of the resort. The villa was just sensational, absolutely beautiful. How wonderful it was to come home after a long day of wine tasting and gourmet restaurants, to sit by a roaring fire sipping our purchases. The fire was magically re-set every day for us, and the towels replaced. Breakfast was a revelation, such as dinner in the restaurant. Service was impeccable and wi-fi was perfect. We had our own private little lake and sitting out on the verandah with a morning coffee was delightful. This was the perfect short break...miss it already!."
