"My wife and I love wine and have visited France before but never Bordeaux. This year we celebrated our 25th anniversary and I retired so this was a trip of a lifetime for us. I discovered the BWE (Bordeaux Wine Experience) newsletter some time ago and felt like this was the trip to take. We were not disappointed. Ronald and Margaret were excellent hosts and balanced each other out very nicely. We had spent three nights in Bordeaux then caught a taxi to the Chateau and Margaret met us while Ronald poured us a glass of Champagne. Nice start to our wine experience. I expected to be educated in all facets of Bordeaux wine and this happened every day along with a good dose of humor from Ronald. The added bonus was that every couple present was there for the same reason, wine! We had such a great time visiting with people from all over the world and now consider new friends from Turkey, Australia, and of course the USA. You could tell everyone was having a very good time and when the time came to participate in making the planned group lunch all guests eagerly jumped in to help. What a great experience. The winery visits were first rate and we were usually greeted by owners who provided personal tours and shared their family histories in the wine business. The wines we tasted on tour were always excellent and so was the food. Dinner out at planned restaurants was above our expectations. This wine tour was everything we were able to go. Thank you Ronald and Margaret. "

"After returning from our third Bordeaux Wine Experience at Chateau Coulon Laurensac, we scrolled back to our first Trip Advisor review in 2014, and our latest experience just confirms and reemphasizes every previous comment. It was a joy to greet Margaret and Ronald as old friends with their exceptional enthusiasm, hospitality, and caring for their guests totally evident. Their pride in Chateau Coulon Laurensac is so obvious in the continuous upgrades to the chateau and the grounds over the past three years. Also we hope you might meet one or both of their sons during your tour, two fine young gentlemen to say the least. Reflecting back to our first tour, it was a whirlwind, almost an overload, of exclusive chateau visits, exciting wine tastings, delicious meals, and details about the vineyards, wine making, and vintage years, all of which differentiate the best Bordeaux wines. Returning a second and third time was even more enjoyable. We could relax and fully appreciate the entire experience which seemed familiar yet even more fresh, exciting, and satisfying than the previous visits. We will not repeat the many, many favorable reviews posted here by our fellow participants, but we can completely confirm their impressions and comments. When we depart from Chateau Coulon Laurensac and Margaret & Ronald, we never say "Goodbye" but instead "We will return again!" And to Trip Advisor, we have one request: Can we give The Bordeaux Wine Experience and Chateau Coulon Laurensac a rating of six ? "

"My partner and I had a fantastic stay on the wine weekend package. It included a bottle of sparkling wine, a self-drive visit and tastings at a chateau in Saint-Emillion, a jacuzzi bath (which unfortunately did not work) and a 3-course meal with drinks at a wonderful French restaurant just 10 minutes away from the gîte. All of this for a very reasonable price, they explain that the money is just to keep up the maintenance of the chateau and I can see this. Thank you Chateau Coulon Laurensac."

"We can't even begin to express our gratitude for the phenomenal experience that Margaret and Ronald Rens provided for us. We had high expectations but they far exceeded everything we imagined. We planned for this to be the trip of our lifetime, but now we realize we must come back again as alumni. The wines, the food, the Chateau facilities, transportation to the vineyards, and the vast knowledge of Bordeaux were absolute top quality and were presented in such a personable and friendly way.We were fortunate to have in our group like-minded wine lovers who were eager to expand their knowledge and appreciation of top Bordeaux wines. We came as strangers but left as a family of close friends. The entire experience was outstanding in all respects."

"The Bordeaux Wine Experience has to represent the absolute pinnacle of any tour offering in the Bordeaux region. It more than exceeded our expectations. Ronald and Margaret, our hosts, exemplify the warm and sharing attributes that characterize wine people everywhere. You stay in a luxury suite in a beautifully renovated 18th-century chateau, with just six suites total, making for a wonderfully intimate group. You get to taste (and in several cases, tour) all five First Growths, plus d'Yquem, queen of Sauternes. Many fine-dining excursions, and the whole week is extremely well-organized without seeming to be.The popularity of this tour is evident; of the five other couples there, four had been on the tour once before, and the fifth couple was there for the third time. That pretty much says it all, and we will almost certainly be repeat customers sometime in the future."
