Todd, thank you for the most excellent adventure as we drove through the Vermont countryside, stopping to take in special sites that would not ordinarily be on a commercialized tour. Because of your knowledge and interest in the small historical places, we feel that we were able to see things we would not see otherwise, such as the old church and the sawmill and meet with the owner of the maple "farm" and store. Because we are ranchers, you showed us the Scottish Highlander cattle in the Von Trapp's property, as well as the Von Trapp's resort. Lunch was great and we enjoyed the whole day! We highly recommend a Bonafide Tour!

Bonafide Tours deserves high praise for their excellent service, knowledge, and personal attention when giving the tourist a ride to the attractions in Vermont. My trip in July was lifted to another dimension as I rode along with Todd, and another tourist I did not know prior to. At the end of the day I felt like I knew each of them for many many years. Information about the area, people, culture, and food satisfied my want to know about the area of Burlington.

A second day of touring was led by Todd’s wonderful wife, Susan, whom I could say became a sister to me in just one day. We had some things in common, one being the love of music, and The Sound of Music. This love called me to go to Stowe to see the Von Trapp Family Lodge. A hike in the woods, lunch at the lodge, meeting Johann Von Trapp, the manager of the lodge and youngest child of the captain and Maria, filled my heart with joy! We stopped along the way to taste some chocolate and drink some wine while talking about all sorts of things! This truly made a special day of touring for me. Thanks to both of you!

My husband and I booked a Maple Sugaring package on a whim through Hotel Vermont in Burlington and this was the included tour. Susan was our tour guide and we were with two sisters and a gentleman from Texas for the day. This was a great, informative tour that took us into the central Vermont countryside to a delicious bakery and local chocolate maker, Morse Farm, where Burr taught us all about the process and walked us through our sugar-on-snow experience, complete with pickles, and a maple candy bonus lesson! We visited Northfield Falls covered bridges, Falls General Store for an amazing, locally sourced lunch, and ending the day with a wine tasting at Fresh Tracks Winery, which to our happy surprise, served nice dry wines and not just fruity New England wines. The day was a fun excursion and a nice contrast to the hustle and bustle of downtown Burlington. We highly recommend them.

My boyfriend and I decided to explore Vermont for a three-year anniversary trip. As a sustainable tourism professional, I am always looking for experiences that allow me to interact with locals and enjoy authentic food, drink, and ways of life. I met Todd Comen, the owner of Bonafide Tours, through a colleague. After talking with Todd, I knew that Bonafide Tour was right for us. As an agritourism specialist and professor, he really knows how to create a diverse experience to introduce you to the heart and spirit of rural Vermont, and he crafted ours around our interests.

We visited the Montpelier Farmers Market, an art shop with all locally made products, a maple syrup farm, a creamery, two wineries, covered bridges, and a number of small-town restaurants and museums that were top notch. He also gave us various recommendations for other things to do in the state, hikes, and cozy little places to stay. Todd has lived in Vermont for over 20 years and it really seems that he knows everyone! Mention his name almost anywhere you visit and chances are they will know him. I 100% recommend Bonafide Tours, if you are planning to visit Vermont. Each trip he puts together is specially made for you. You will come away with a fulfilling experience and deep appreciation for the high-quality products and buy-local / entrepreneurial spirit of Vermonters.

I decided that I wanted to have my bachelor party in Vermont, travel the beautiful green mountains, and drink beer. My helpful grooms folk look around online and found Todd with Bonafide Tours. From the beginning, working with him was amazing. He went out of his way to make sure that we all had the best time. We truly did. He set up a personal tour with amazing breweries and did a fantastic job of offering his opinions and Vermont knowledge, while letting us choose what we wanted to do. Todd was friendly, kind, helpful, and flexible. He helped make our beer tour amazing. I could not recommend his services enough. I also think he knows everyone in Vermont. Everywhere we went, he knew someone and he has a vast amount of insider knowledge.

We went on a brew tour throughout Vermont for my best friend's bachelor party. Todd was more than accommodating and gave us a trip of a lifetime! He even spent the time prior to our arrival to find four four-packs of Heady Topper and four four-packs of Sip of Sunshine. For those of you that do not what know those beers are, they are incredibly hard to find! Todd picked us up at our hotel and drove us to Lost Nation Brewery, where we met the owners, Allan and Jamie. We then headed to a co-op for sandwiches and then headed further north to Hill Farmstead, which was one of the highlights of our trip.

We then headed back to Lost Nation to enjoy a few libations and some delicious food. Next stop was the Rock Art Brewery and then on to Montpelier, where we ate at Mad Taco, which was fantastic, by the way, and grabbed beers at the Three Penny Tap Room, which is a couple blocks away. We then headed to The Reservoir in Waterbury for more drinks and food. Todd then let us know about an amazing Jazz band playing at The Alley, across the street. Todd took us back to our hotel and recommended a night cap at Doc Ponds Bar and Grill, which is a couple blocks from our hotel. All and all, our brew tour was incredible and Todd was amazing. We could not have asked for a better tour guide!
