You will stay in 4-star hotels throughout the trip.


Day 1 - Arrival

  • Group arrival at Catania-Fontanarossa Airport (CTA).
  • You will be met by your driver for private transfer to Tenute Chiuse del Signore, a winery on a hilltop at 550 meters above the sea level, in the town of Linguaglossa (Etna - an active Volcano). The grapes grown here are the products of both the older vineyards and more recent replanted vineyards. Some examples of the grapes are Nerello Mascalese, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon.
  • You will experience your first guided tour of a Sicilian vineyard along with wine tasting, accompanied by a light lunch.
  • After lunch, you will proceed for Syracuse and check in at your hotel.
  • You will then be accompanied for a guided tour of Ortigia, the historical center that witnessed centuries of dominion of the city by the Byzantines, Bourbons, Arabs and Normans. Fine examples are the cathedral and Apollos Temple.
  • Free for dinner with choices among several typical Sicilian restaurants in Ortigia.

Day 2 - Syracuse

  • After breakfast, depart for the Gulino Winery. These vineyards have been cultivated since 1600, enlarged in the following centuries becoming a farm in 1900. The vineyards are mainly Nero dAvola grapes, some example of wines are Fania, Drus, and Saliens.
  • Visit the winery and have a wine tasting session, followed by a light lunch.
  • After lunch, go on a guided tour of the archaeological park and Greek theater (the largest in all of the ancient Greece).
  • In the afternoon, depart for the Pupillo farm. Established in 1908, it occupies a large part of those lands known as Targia Feud, renowned for its King Frederick II's castle and for the fertile soil which infuses delicate flavors and perfumes to the grapes. The winery is located inside the wonderful setting of Solacium, a summer residence of King Frederick II, which includes King Frederick's II castle, the ancient millstone room, and the historical garden.
  • The tasting is accompanied by dinner with local products.
  • Return to the hotel.

Day 3 - Syracuse, Noto

  • After breakfast ,depart for the Modica Winery, in Noto. This estate has 300 hectares of land. Some of the vines are more than 60 years old, but there are new implantations as well. Fine examples of their wines are Insolia, Nero dAvola and Dolce Nero.
  • Visit of the vineyards, followed by a light lunch including a tasting of wines.
  • After lunch, you will then proceed for a visit of the town of Noto, the capital of Baroque and one of the UNESCO heritage sites. Fine examples are the cathedral and Palazzo Nicolaci.
  • You will then proceed for your second winery, Planeta Winery - Buonivini. Planeta is a leading winemaker and has a strong presence in Sicily with 370 hectares of own vineyards and has five wineries located in different areas of the region. You will visit Buonivini in Noto that is characterized by an eco-friendly atmosphere.
  • The visit of the vineyards is followed by a light dinner including a tasting of four wines.
  • Return to the hotel in Syracuse.

Day 4 - Vittoria, Ragusa Ibla, Ragusa

  • After breakfast, depart for the Cos Winery. The estate grows the vineyard according to biodynamic culture. Cos stores the wine in amphoras, clay jars that were used by the ancient Greeks. Their love of the region and its singular terroir produces some of the finest wines, such as Pithos Bianco with the local Grecanico grape and Cerasuolo di Vittoria.
  • Visit at the winery, wine tasting, and full lunch.
  • After lunch, visit Ragusa Ibla, capital of baroque and a UNESCO heritage site, to admire picturesque lanes and narrow streets. Tour of Ragusa Ibla, one of the three Spanish towns completely rebuilt after a devastating earthquake in 1693.
  • You will proceed to Ragusa.
  • Check in at your 4-star hotel - resort in the Hyblean landscape and dinner.

Day 5 - Acate, Scicli, Ragusa

  • After breakfast, depart for the Valle Dacate Winery. Its uncontaminated nature, rows of grapevines crisscrossing the slopes recreate a true natural paradise, dominated by the austere palmento. You will visit the vineyards followed by wine tasting and a light lunch.
  • After lunch, you will have a guided tour of Scicli, a UNESCO heritage site. You will discover the beauties of the Hyblean district and admire the beautiful late-baroque churches with high belfries, noble houses adorned with funny masks.
  • You will then go back to the hotel in Ragusa and have dinner.

Day 6 - Vittoria, Ragusa

  • After breakfast, depart for the Planeta Winery - Dorilli, in the heart of the production of Cerasuolo of Vittoria, close to the Dorilli River.
  • The Dorilli winery is the result of the restoration of a great country house of the beginning of the 20th century along with its connecting wine cellar belonging to the Torrenuova Feudo. It has 34 hectares of land.
  • Visit of the vineyards, tasting wines such as Cerasuolo diVittoria , Nero dAvola and Frappato along with a light lunch.
  • After lunch, you will proceed to the Donnafugata Castle which dates back to the mid 17th century. The result of the various transformations is a summation of styles ranging from Venetian Gothic all the way up to the late Renaissance style. This noble home boasts 122 rooms and along with the luxuriant park it makes it the largest and most refined patrician home in south-east Sicily.
  • You will then go back to the hotel in Ragusa and have dinner.

Day 7 - Butera, Ragusa

  • After breakfast, depart for the Principi di Butera Winery. This estate is situated within the Riesi D.O.C. area, in the province of Caltanissetta. This ancient estate consists of 320 hectares of land, of which 180 have been newly planted with vines.
  • The visit of the winery will be followed by wine tasting and a light lunch.
  • Free afternoon for leisure.
  • Back to the hotel in Ragusa and have dinner.

Day 8 - Gambino Vini, Catania, departure

  • After breakfast, check out and depart for Catania-Fontanarossa Airport (CTA).
  • You will visit the last winery of your tour at Gambino Vini Winery. It is on the eastern side of Etna, surrounded by the wood and facing Taormina. You eventually reach the Gambino vineyards at 800 meters above sea level. These vineyards lay on a sunny and airy terracing that grant a breathtaking panorama. The unique climate and the soil conditions determine the typicality of the Etna grapes and wine.
  • Visit of the vineyards accompanied by typical delicacies of the region.
  • After a light lunch, depart for the airport.
