Once you are settled, you'll take a walking tour of the historic Bevagna center and enjoy wine aperitif in the beautiful piazza.
You'll enjoy a welcome dinner together at an astounding Italian countryside trattoria frequented only by locals to enjoy its scrumptious food.
The Arnaldo Caprai winery in Montefalco will be your first stop on Monday morning. There you will taste their Sagrantino wine, which is regarded as one of the finest red wines of Italy. Then you will drive close by to visit an extra virgin olive oil mill where you will see how the best extra virgin olive oil is produced and how to taste it.
You will have lunch at a distinctive restaurant in the piazza of Montefalco - also called the Terrace of Umbria. You will stroll through this charismatic town as we admire its dazzling views of the fields below.
In the afternoon, you drive to Spoleto. You will stroll through the narrow streets of the picturesque center that is world famous for its music festival held each July. You'll explore some of the town's magnificent sites like the castle, Duomo, roman bridge, and narrow roads. Then in the late afternoon you'll have cooking class at a great restaurant with the creative chef and owner.
Your day will begin with a scenic drive through the mountains to a typical Italian farming home with unforgettable mountain views. You'll have a truffle hunting adventure in the hills with a truffle hunter and his scent dog, followed by lunch at their family's farming home. An amazing experience! You'll return to your accommodation, after stopping at a truffle and mushroom shop where they transform fresh truffles in sauces or other products,
In the late afternoon you drive to the pretty hill town of Trevi for a walk. Dinner will be at a family owned restaurant with warmhearted atmosphere.
In the morning after one hour driving through the magnificent Umbrian countryside you arrive at Civita di Bagnoregio. Walkg in this unique hill town, reachable only on foot through a long bridge.
On the way to Orvieto stop at a winery to taste the renowned white wine called "Orvieto". Once you arrive in Orvieto, the facade of the Duomo, the main church, will surprise you! It is considered a masterpiece of Gothic architecture for its extraordinary beauty.
Lunch free in Orvieto and free time for visiting or shopping. This town has several local artisan shops with ceramic, leather and more.
You'll then go back back to your accommodation then have dinner in Bevagna at a very cozy osteria with great food.
Thursday morning you will drive to Umbria's capital, Perugia. The city boasts Roman and Etruscan monuments and has a gorgeous historic center. It is known for its colorful art museums, shops, bakeries, and Perugina chocolate called "Baci." You will walk through the historic center with an English-speaking guide and have lunch at a pleasant trattoria.
In the afternoon, you will visit a ceramic laboratory in Deruta where you will get to see the process of making and decorating pottery. Afterwards, you will have free time for some relaxation back at the agriturismo.
You will begin in the late afternoon your Italian cooking class that will be based on cereals and legumes that are typical of the region. You'll enjoy a dinner of the tasty creations that you made during the class.
You will drive to Assisi on Friday morning for a guided visit with an English-speaking guide. He will take you inside the Saint Francis Basilica that is adorned with colorful frescoes by renowned Italian painter Giotto.
You'll enjoy a wine tasting and light lunch at a very special family winery as you admire the beautiful countryside. Then you'll return to Bevagna. Dinner will be at an amazing restaurant with spectacular view.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will depart from the Foligno train station with memories to treasure for a lifetime!
