Italy Wine Tour and Cooking Vacations

During this vacation, you will explore wine and local delicacies of Prosecco region, famous with its steep green hills and the favorable location between Venice and Alps. You will visit local wineries which will offer you the best samples of Prosecco wine. Along with that, you will have a chance to taste Italian coffee, grappa, and cheese. You will also visit cultural attractions of the region - Asolo, Bassano del Grappa, and Valdobbiadene. A cooking class with a local chef will round off your experience.

You will be accommodated in a four-star hotel, an actual restored Palladian villa in the heart of the enchanting Prosecco land. All the accommodations that Bluone has selected over the years, hotels or farmhouses, are cozy, charming, clean, with nice view, friendly and helping staff and great service. You will feel like at home!

Day 1, Saturday - Introduction to Prosecco di Valdobbiadene

You will be met at Conegliano train station (if you arrive to other places, Bluone can organize for you a private transfer on request). You will have a private transfer to your hotel and celebrate your arrival with a traditional aperitif of the area. In the late afternoon, you will visit local winery for your first Prosecco di Valdobbiadene wine tasting! Youll have welcome dinner with traditional food at the agriturismo of the winery from which is good to admire the beauty of the Belluno's Pre-Alps. Along with Prosecco, you will discover other indigenous wines and Italian salumi. Everything is rigorously produced by the family, following old recipes and methods.

Day 2, Sunday - Visit a secular water mill and taste awarded Prosecco di Conegliano

In the morning, you will visit an antique water mill in a charming location, close to a water fall. This unique mill is still producing flour. Your next step is going towards the discovery of "Prosecco nectar". You will visit to a winery run by mother and son, in the area of Conegliano. You will taste their Proseccos: natural fermentation, brut and extra dry. In 2015, all of them received an award at an important competition among more than 100 wineries! Lunch at a very typical trattoria nearby, where only locals go. After, you will be walking in Conegliano, and then head back to your hotel. In the evening, you will have dinner at a very charming restaurant nearby.

Day 3, Monday - Discover hidden jewels of Veneto

In the morning visit and walk in Asolo, one of the most enchanting towns of the "Marca trevigiana". Strolling and getting lost in the streets of Asolo will reveal you some of the most interesting secrets. Art, royal mansions, craftsmen workshops, delicatessen shops, and markets. You shouldnt miss a strategic point overlooking at the same time the flat land of Veneto and the Alps. Would you ever imagine to be able to visit the winery of an old Palladian villa? Later in the morning, some of the most unexpected sides of your imagination will become true. This villa protected by World Heritage UNESCO is going to be an experience of excellence of the best Italian art, architecture, and wine traditions.

You will have wine tasting and lunch at the osteria in the same property. In the afternoon, another important discovery will delight your day. Its Bassano del Grappa, just beside Monte Grappa and Brenta River, known for the distillation of grappa. You will have a nice promenade under the sparkling air of Bassano, visit one of the historical grappa producers, and taste the best wine of the region. After returning to your hotel, you will have dinner at a restaurant with a great reputation, located close to your hotel.

Day 4, Tuesday - Discover Treviso

The noble and intriguing atmosphere inclosing Treviso is going to give you unique emotions and please your eyes. Waterways underneath and canals popping out of nowhere are revealing symbols of Treviso and the history of Marca trevigiana. Your visit will start at the fish market. By walking with a local guide in Treviso, you will explore not only the artistic side of this beautiful city but also its convivial character thanks to osterie, trattorie, and antique restaurants offering the specialties of the area.

Later, you will have light lunch in Treviso center. In the afternoon, you will be back to your hotel. After resting, you will drive to visit a magnificent castle up in the hills, with amazing view on the valley. Dinner at a welcoming trattoria nearby.

Day 5, Wednesday - Cheese tasting, winery visit, and cooking class

In the morning, you will visit a traditional milk producer, an Italian so-called latteria, run by a young couple. It has belonged to the same family for many generations. There will be the opportunity to taste cow, sheep, and goat cheeses and other dairy products. The passion of the dairyman, better known as casaro, is fulfilled by the creation of an academy where one can learn the art of cheese, the place keeping alive the traditions of cheese making techniques. Lunch will be served at the latteria.

In the afternoon, you will visit a beautiful winery, a family-owned agricultural company entirely run by women of the same family, mother and four daughters. This winery is considered one of the most important in the Prosecco area, one of the cornerstones of the tradition surrounding the production of Prosecco D.O.C.G wine. In the large kitchen of the winery, you will take a cooking class with a chef who will teach you to cook some of the local dishes. Dinner will be accompanied with the great wines from the winery.

Day 6, Thursday - Cartizze wine and coffee tasting

In the morning, you will drive towards Valdobbiadene to visit the area where the Cartizze is produced. Cartizze is a superior variety of Prosecco, produced only in a small area in the heart of the Prosecco. You will taste this special wine at a deluxe winery. The view from the winery is enchanting. As you will be very close to Valdobbiadene, you will visit the little town and stop for a coffee at the smallest coffee torrefazione (toasting) of Italy! You will have lunch at a very nice trattoria in the countryside nearby. After going back to your hotel, you will have farewell dinner at the best elegant restaurant of the area.

Day 7, Friday - Departure

Departure after breakfast. Private transfer to train station in Conegliano.
