Olia Hercules

Olia is a Leiths-trained chef, recipe writer, and food stylist who honed her cooking skills in the fiery kitchens of Ottolenghi, after which she worked as a freelance recipe tester and developer for a variety of food magazines, including Sainsbury's and Jamie. She also appeared in a Food Network cookery show. She was picked as Observer Rising Star of 2015 in the food category, and her recipes are regularly featured in the "10 Best" column of The Guardian’s Cook supplement.

Roger Stowell

After a long career as a well-known editorial and advertising photographer in London, Roger now lives and works in the Vendee, France. Over the years, he has worked for most of the well-known English magazines such as Elle, Marie Claire, Sunday Times, The Times, The Observer, Telegraph supplement, Red, Olive, and BBC Good Food, as well as a legion of advertising clients. During his career, he worked with every possible film format but when digital arrived on the scene, he fully embraced it and has become an expert exponent of Photoshop and digital photography.

Mark Greenaway

With a career beginning in Scotland in 1992, Mark gained valuable experience during a five year stint in Australia, working at some of the nation’s top establishments. He received nationwide acclaim following the opening of his eponymous restaurant in Edinburgh in February 2011,and since then, the restaurant has moved to new premises on North Castle Street, where the awards and plaudits have continued. Mark has a passion for Scottish ingredients and uses only the very best local, seasonal produce, transforming them with modern techniques

John Torode

A hugely popular and influential figure on the UK culinary circuit, John Torode is best known as the straight-talking co-host and judge of twelve seasons of Master Chef. Australian by birth, John is credited as one of the main players in introducing Australasian food to the UK in the mid-1990s. He is passionate about sourcing the best of British produce, particularly within the meat industry, where he has long been a champion of rare breeds. Also a well-known food writer, John regularly contributes to Olive and BBC Good Food magazines, as well as Radio Times and Red magazine.

Chris Wheeler

Chris Wheeler is an executive chef at Stoke Park. In 2016, he won three outstanding awards including Hotel Chef of the Year (Over 250 Covers) - Hotel Cateys 2016, Chef of the Year - Berkshire and Buckinghamshire Life Food and Drink Awards 2016, and Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year for Humphry’s- Buckinghamshire Food and Drink Awards 2016. Chris' flexibility as a chef is legendary, if he's not whisking up culinary delights for guests, he's running the marathon dressed as a chef and carrying a stock pot or flipping pancakes all the way, raising tens of thousands pounds for charity.

Michael Reid

Michael’s passion for gastronomy began at a young age, but he didn’t begin his professional career until 2001 when he spent all of his free time learning the ropes at Truffles of Southsea brasserie whilst studying for his BA in Business and Marketing at the University of Portsmouth. After graduating, it was clearly apparent that his vocation lies in the culinary arts, so he headed for London. It wasn’t long after, he secured an apprenticeship at The In & Out club in St James that Michael began working in the kitchens of the Royal Air Force Club.

Romy Gill

Romy Gill is one of the few female Indian chef / owners in the UK, having opened Romy’s Kitchen Restaurant in September 2013 in Thornbury, Bristol. She is Slow Food UK Chef Alliance member and cooked for England at Terra Madre Salone del Gusto, Turin, Italy in Sep, 2016. Chef Romy is also a British / Indian chef and cookery teacher and a food writer. Gill's style of Indian cooking is very different from that found at the majority of Indian restaurants in the UK. She avoids the use of unnatural food colourings, and is a fan of combining Indian and British cuisine.

We had a fantastic stay and was truly a picturesque place to stay, the pool area was great, and a really nice place to unwind. We took the boat out on several occasions and ended up in some lovely local bars which was really unique to anywhere else we have stayed in the past. Many thanks to Matt for being on hand for local information, we will be returning! This was one of my favorite holidays in France and I have been a lot of times! Just a great place to unwind and the garden is fantastic for the children with so many trees to climb. Many a late evening in the great pool terrace covered area having barbecues and swims.

We had a great holiday and really enjoyed our time here, the weather was superb the heated pool made all the difference and tired out the children and adults no end! This was a family holiday centered on young children aged six months to six years. It proved a great success. The farmhouse is large and comfortable and most of the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The kitchen and sitting rooms are exactly as described and easily coped with all the demands we put upon it. The outside is wonderful. A great swimming pool; lovely outdoor barbecue and eating area which is shaded on hot evenings. There is a large orchard running down to the canal giving a lot of shade and plenty of play space. The immediate countryside is ideal for cycling and short visits. The beaches at La Rochelle and Ile de Re are less than an hour away. Shopping is not a problem. Matt and Emily were very responsive to our needs and were lovely to deal with. We are likely to return and would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for a similar holiday.

Fabulous living and outdoor space. Ideal for family and friends to get together and the perfect venue for our wedding party (Matt and Emily did the catering with panache)! Stressed travelers loved the pool. Wish we had had a bit longer to explore the canals but we had a lovely pre-wedding meal in La Pigouille in the very pretty town of Coulon.
