The Rockland Camden area of Midcoast Maine is quickly gaining a reputation as a foodie town, offering award-winning restaurants, specialty food producers and a burgeoning wine region. Rockland is home to the Maine Lobster Festival, a celebration held annually in honor of the town's primary export: lobster. Rockland is also home to the Farnsworth Art Museum, a world-famous art gallery containing paintings by Andrew Wyeth and other well-known New England artists. Rockland's main street features numerous small shops and businesses including coffee shops, book stores, art supply stores, restaurants, and toy stores. Penobscot Bay, which Rockland borders, is known internationally as one of the best recreational sailing grounds in the world.
The inn is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood away from busy Rt.1, but within walking distance to the harbor, historic downtown shops, museums, art galleries and an array of great restaurants.
Each morning will start-off with coffee, juice and tea service available at 07:00 so the early risers can start on their caffeine intake. Since the owners don't believe in alarm clocks on vacation, they choose to serve the multi-course breakfast anytime between 08:00 and 09:30 at individual tables in the main dining room. Feel free to stroll down at 08:00 or roll out of bed, slip on one of the comfy robes and sit down at 09:30.
You will be served coffee or tea, assorted juices, a fruit course, homemade bread or pastry and a main course with meat and an entrée that alternates between sweet and savory. The menu will be posted the night before and the owners encourage guests to let them know of food preferences, such as any allergies or other dietary needs like gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, in advance, so that they can prepare a breakfast choice to meet all needs. There will always be alternative breakfasts available like hot or cold cereal, plain scrambled eggs or plain French toast so please specify your preferences at check-in.
