Belmond Villa San Michele is nestled on a hilltop amid lush trees and terraced gardens, enjoying unparalleled vistas of Florence, stretched out before it in all its classic splendor. Stroll in the Italian gardens, bursting with lemon trees and fragrant roses, and savor superb Tuscan cuisine on the alfresco La Loggia Restaurant as if in a private home.
Dating from the 15th century, the villa's facade is attributed to Michelangelo. Step inside and you experience the ethereal beauty and solitude of a Renaissance monastery that is as much a part of Italy's culture as the country's greatest cathedrals and galleries. Rooms and suites are located in the old monastery building and nestled amid the beautiful gardens. Each enjoys spectacular views and boasts its own unique style and antique furnishings.
Join in Chef Attilio di Fabrizio during his fun hands-on lessons. The course will be held every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10:00 to 12:30 and will focus on the preparation of a Tuscan appetizer, a first course, and a dessert. Afterwards, you'll sit down with fellow students to enjoy the dishes you have made matched with Tuscan wines chosen by a sommelier.
Ruled by the powerful Medicis for centuries, Florence abounds in magnificent art and architecture. The capital of Tuscany, it was the birthplace of the Renaissance and the most important city in Europe from the 14th to early 16th centuries. Alongside its treasure-filled galleries, museums and churches, Florence is famous for its picturesque bridges. The most famous of these, the Ponte Vecchio, is lined with jewelry shops that seem to be suspended over the water.
