Your accommodation for this vacation would be a four-star hotel in San Sebastian - Donostia and a four-star hotel in Rioja Alavesa.


Day 1: Welcome to Donostia / San Sebastian

Welcome full package with a city tour of the musts and a "pintxos" based dinner.

Day 2: Basque Culinary Center and Getaria

Enjoy a unique gastronomic experience in the Basque Culinary Center (BCC), the pioneering academic institution worldwide. Lunch is included. In the afternoon, you'll visit the village of Getaria, visiting a traditional Anchovies Factory and a "Txakolindegi" winery.

Day 3: Gastronomic Society experience

Enjoy a private gastronomic experience with a local chef, who will cook a special dinner based in local recipes and will take you around the local market.

Day 4: Ordizia

Enjoy a full day experience in the market of Ordizia, the "Wall Street" of vegetables, with a visit to a traditional cheese factory. Lunch is included.

Day 5: Bilbao

Today would be a full day visit to Bilbao starting with a guided city walking tour and followed by a private visit to the Guggenheim Museum. Lunch would be in a traditional restaurant (included). On the way back to the hotel, you'll have a stop in the amazing San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Dinner is in the Michelin Starred Kokotxa Restaurant (included).

Day 6: Añana and Vitoria

Enjoy a half day tour of Añana Salt Valley, one of the unknown treasures of the Basque Country. In the afternoon, you'll visit the city of Vitoria and it's spectacular Santa María Cathedral, the inspiration of Ken Follet to continue with "The pillars of the earth". Lunch would be in a traditional restaurant which is included.

Day 7: Rioja Alavesa

There will be a full day tour around the fantastic wineries of the Basque "Napa Valley". You'll visit and have wine tastings in two wineries. Lunch in a winery is included. Farewell dinner would be held at a local restaurant.

Day 8: Goodbye

You will bid farewell to the Basque Country and its cuisine.


The Basque Country is a small great country. A place of green colors, like its hills and forests, and blue, like its Cantabrian Sea and its numerous rivers. An incomparable scene of mountain and sea that has shaped the personality of its people. People with sea character, industrial and farming character, diverse and entrepreneurial, and with a millenary culture.

Euskadi is enjoyed in its short distances. A small country, full of charm, with an immensity of wonders to enjoy, one after another.

Three capitals

There are three cities to add to the interesting, numerous towns of the coast and the inlands.

  • Vitoria-Gasteiz, a city designed for good living, with a rich historical heritage, unbeatable urban planning, and natural surroundings beyond compare.
  • Bilbao, pure evolution, from its industrial past to vanguard metropolis, and with a symbol of its transformation which is recognizable worldwide, the Guggenheim Museum.
  • Donostia-San Sebastián, the majestic Bella Easo, a delightful city, to taste and leave the best taste possible, just like its gastronomy, the biggest concentration of Michelin stars in the world.

Basque Culinary Center

The Basque Culinary Center is a groundbreaking academic institution worldwide. Seven of the best Basque chefs, leading companies in the food and beverage sector, and AZTI Tecnalia are members of its MONDRAGON UNIBERTSITATEA Board of Trustees. It also has an International Council with the involvement of eleven of the world's most influential chefs.

The Basque Culinary Center's aim is higher education, research, innovation, and promotion of gastronomy and food. Since its creation in September 2011, the Basque Culinary Center has been working to become an international benchmark in these matters and also to promotes gastronomy as a lever for socio-economic development through the Faculty of Gastronomic Sciences and the Research and Innovation Center.


Seven breakfasts, six lunches, and four dinners are included in the price. Those meals include two Michelin starred restaurants, one private Gastronomic Society, one "pintxotour", five traditional Basque restaurants, and one BCC restaurant experiences.

About the culinary aspect of the tour, the clients will discover the Basque gastronomy known worldwide and specifically San Sebastian, which hosts more Michelin stars per habitant than any other city in the world.

Basque cuisine involves two aspects, the traditional cuisine and the nouvelle cuisine. During this tour, they will discover both by visiting traditional restaurants and markets and Michelin starred restaurants. Also discovering wineries in Rioja Alavesa and the famous Txakoli in Getaria.
