The aim of this tour is to give to you a global accessible experience on the Basque Country. You will be provided with the opportunity to discover the famous city of San Sebastián and his singular mixture modern and traditional gastronomy. Also, you will visit the hidden places of Bilbao and his worldwide known Guggenheim Museum.
Aside the capitals, you will enjoy a different landscape visiting beautiful villages of the French Basque Country. However, you will continue tasting the best local products on this area, where the gastronomy is also spectacular.
Once more, you will change to another ambience visiting the Rioja region, globally known for producing the best wines of Spain. On this territory, the landscape is totally different and the villages you will visit offers another charisma. Visiting local wineries is essential and you will have the opportunity of doing a degustation with an expert.
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed at the airport lounge and will be assist ed and transferred to the hotel you have chosen to do the check-in. Then, you will start enjoying Basque gastronomy with a dinner at a Michelin star restaurant.
San Sebastian has been awarded with the title of the best gastronomic experience in the world thanks to his variety and quality of pintxos among other things. For this reason, on the second day, you will learn about this important part of the culture of Basque society, the pintxos.
Your host have organised a walking tour around the city where you will discover the personality of Donostia and you will taste a great selection of miniature bites, from traditional to modern and experimental “Basque tapas” or pintxos.
The third day of your trip, you will discover the hidden places of the amazing city of Bilbao accompanied by an expert guide. In addition, you will visit the Guggenheim Museum, designed by the architect Frank Gehry, which has become a symbol of the city. This building is an architectonic masterpiece inspired by the naval and industrial tradition of the red and white city.
Basque country has a strategic location, it is located in the north of Spain on the border with France. That is one of the reasons why his culture offers a large diversity and variety of landscapes. Due to that, you cannot miss the opportunity of discovering the culinary secrets and surroundings of the French Basque Country.
Your host will organise a day-trip starting in Hendaya and visiting another interesting villages as for example San Juan de Luz, Espelette or Sara. During this trip, you could buy local products on their markets and also taste their best delicatessen as cheese, peppers, or chocolate, all of them famous for their production on the visited villages.
To continue learning about the large diversity that the Basque Country could offer, on the fifth day of the trip, you will change to another territory. This area is famous for his wine made from grapes grown in the autonomous communities of La Rioja, Navarre, and the Basque province of Alava.
Guided by a local expert, you will visit two renowned local wineries, understanding the winemaking process and tasting several wines in each of them. At the end of the day, you will enjoy a walk through the medieval streets of Laguardia village.
After visiting different interesting areas of the Basque Country, you will be back to San Sebastian to take a break. You will have free time to enjoy the city and also an entry to Hegalak Sport Centre and Spa, totally accessible.
On the last day, breakfast will be taken at the hotel and after doing the check-out, you will be transferred to the hotel in an adapted vehicle.
