Testimonials

  • Review by Annie from United States

"I had long fantasized about visiting this mecca of Irish cooking and was thrilled to be able to book an afternoon demonstration class during a recent trip to Ireland. It is about 30-40 minutes from Cork, near where we were staying., We arrived early to roam the gardens and gift shop and found some lovely things to take home as mementos. When we finally went to the registration desk, we were escorted into a dining area and given hot tea and scones, then taken to the class room.We were some of the few visitors amongst the students attending the 12 week cooking school. The students were friendly and helpful, offering to fetch us drinks and talk about the school. Then Darina Allen appeared and furiously cooked up an incredible number of dishes with the help of two able assistants. over the next three hours Then we queued up and ate the food that had been prepared. We were given a folder with the recipes., We were excited to learn that Alice Waters, Ina Garten and April Bloomfield were on the premises and hoped to bump into them in the garden, but, alas, that did not happen., The gardens were huge and extensive and the herb garden was stunning. All of the eggs, dairy, meat, and vegetables are grown on site., All in all, a great experience. Visited May 2015"
