The accommodation includes 5 nights at the luxurious Azadi Retreat Resort. Set amongst lush green rice fields with views of sacred Mount Agung, your sanctuary away from it all is only four minutes from downtown Ubud but will feel like a world away. Quiet, with gentle breezes and fresh air you will never want to leave. Azadi means freedom in Hindi and reflects the experience offered when you stay there; time and space that will give you freedom from the everyday so you can focus on nurturing you.

Your room is only steps away from the surrounding rice fields and opens onto a private deck with seating. All the independent rooms are designed with their own unique aspect to allow you to experience the stunning beauty and tranquility of the environment. Sit and relax on your private deck, admire the view, and feel the freshness of the breeze. Recycled timber, handpicked furniture, fine cotton sheets, and authentic Balinese touches are combined with European styling. Every detail has been thought of to maximize your comfort and relaxation.

Lounge and pool

Designed as a place of comfort, the lounge is the hub of the retreat where you can relax, eat and chat. As your home away from home kick off your shoes and lounge on a day bed with a book from our library. Make yourself a tea or coffee and check your emails or chat to new friends. The infinity pool is the perfect place to relax around after yoga or between meals and massages, with magnificent views over the rice-fields and to Mount Agung it is a spot to just be. Soak up the rice field view, take a nap or refresh yourself with a fresh juice. Make yourself at home.

The spa

The intimate two bed spa sits underneath the yoga shala looking out over tropical jungle. Surrounded by peace and tranquility you can truly escape as you sink into the enjoyment of your massage or facial in a peaceful location. Using organic spa products and traditional Balinese techniques one treatment wont be enough! Pedicures and manicures are available to be enjoyed in the privacy of your room verandah. The perfect antidote to a morning of yoga.

Yoga shala

Set at the bottom of the retreat nestled above the banks of the river you can enjoy beautiful rice-field and jungle views as you practice. With recycled iron wood pillars and floor the shala has an organic earthy feel with its own sound system, yoga mats, blocks, straps and bolsters provided. After your practice the staff will be waiting with a freshly cut coconut to re-hydrate you which you can sip on your way to your delicious breakfast. Then you are free to relax by the pool, curl up with a book in the lounge or enjoy the privacy of your room. Dont forget to book in a massage or facial! You can book either a private class or as a group. The teachers offer Vinyasa, Yin, Ashtanga or Tantra. All necessary equipment is provided.


The schedule times are specifically balanced between events and workshops; where free time is given, thats when you can enjoy the space, read a book or relax by the pool so that you can get the most out of the retreat. The raw food chef will teach you special techniques and raw kitchen tricks that can help you prepare food in creative and interesting ways. Youll learn new techniques by using blenders, spiralizers and dehydrators that keep enzymes and vitamins all intact. Guest speakers give talks about super herb tonics and elixirs, explaining the way herbs help the body respond positively to stress and emotional upheaval.

Oksana Sokol
Oksana is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher with Radiantly Alive, 85 hours prenatal with Jennifer Wolfe and 200 hours with Yoga Synergy. She has studied Iyengar, Tripschore, Ashtanga, Jivamukti among other styles with different teachers worldwide. Coming from Australia, she has lived in Ubud, Bali, for the last 4 years teaching yoga at various establishments including the Radiantly Alive Yoga Studio and on numerous retreats.
Sonja Eberhard
Being passionate about nutrition, yoga and health was the beginning of a culinary journey for Sonja when she returned to Australia in 1996 from her European success as a qualified jeweler and jewelry designer. Working in various wineries and cafes she opened her own caf, Sonjas Healthy & Tasty Foods, which gave her the starting point in building the reputation as the local food queen.


This retreat will take place in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Ubud is the artistic and spiritual heart of Bali. A Mecca of yoga and healing with practitioners of all modalities.

By consuming raw food everyone can expect extraordinary health benefits. Changes can be felt even within a short 24 hour period. Thats why the organizers love it so much. It stirs abundant energy and vitality, weight control, reversal or slowing of aging, balances emotions, clears the mind and gives us optimal health. This is certainly one of the highlights on the retreat. Art of Life Retreats will not only serve delectable and nourishing raw organic meals but youll also learn how to prepare them. Youll make power smoothies, salad dressings, and pasta zucchini.

Who said that lasagna, an otherwise high carbohydrates, hi-fat dairy meal, couldnt be healthy for you and taste so delicious that youll want more? And for the sweet-tooth chocolate-lovers our skillful chef will teach us how to make healthy deserts: energy balls, chocolate treats, and cakes to delight even the toughest critic. The menu planning is one of the most important aspects of the retreat. Meals are intelligently combined to offer the highest nutritional value possible. Correct food combining is an element that Art of Life Retreats respects.

Many proteins and complex carbohydrates (cooked or raw) dont digest together very easily as they require different digestive enzymes to break down. Art of Life Retreats will keep focus on different ingredients in each meal but also look at the bigger picture of how each meal will work on your digestion and assimilation throughout the whole week. The organizers really want everyone to feel the benefits of eating raw food. At the end of this time together, the organizers will email you a recipe book of all the highlighted meals that were served so that you may savor them at home.

Acupressure massage

Uplifting and calming, acupressure is a gentle, no-oil massage. Based on the teachings of Chinese medicine, your therapist will focus on your bodys meridian circulation points. Gentle, accurate pressure is applied to get your blood flowing and help clear blockages. Revitalize your body and mind with this refreshing, energizing massage. IDR 130,000 for 1 hour.

Azadi signature massage

A combination of acupressure and Swedish massage the signature massage will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Acupressure stimulates key energy channels before oil is applied for traditional massage. The oil used for procedures is high quality extra virgin coconut oil mixed with pure essential oils. IDR 150,000 for 1 hour, IDR 180,000 for 1,5 hour.

Hot stone therapy massage

Hot stone massage is a variation on classic Swedish massage. The warmth of the stones and your therapists technique will gently massage your tissue and muscles with just the right amount of pressure and warmth comfortable to you. IDR 180,000 for 1 hour 30 minutes.

Organic facial

Lie back and relax for your 60 minute organic facial. Your treatment begins with a gentle cleansing and scrub followed by aloe vera to calm any problem areas with a neck and shoulder massage. This is followed by an ozone steam to extract impurities and oxygenate your skin leaving your face feeling fresh and cleansed. Following the application of organic honey, your therapist will apply a mask while she massages your hands. Your treatment concludes with the application of toner, eye cream and moisturizer and a head massage. IDR 180,000 for 1 hour.


Dating back to China over 5000 years ago, reflexology is an ancient healing technique that focuses on the feet and hands. Steady, gentle pressure is applied to specific points that relate to different organs and energy channels in the body. Great for releasing energy blockages this treatment will help to relieve stress and stimulate the bodys healing process. You will feel like you are floating at the end. IDR 120,00 for 50 minutes.
