New Year Wine Tasting Holiday in Vienna

Austrian wine is undergoing a well-deserved revival in the wine world, with wine journalists and consumers alike being enthused by its attractive range of wines. Although historically perhaps known best outside of Austria for their sweet wines, today it is their emblematic white variety of Gruner Veltliner that is grabbing all the attention, with its attractive spicy notes. There are 35 grape varieties grown in Austria, mainly white, but there are some reds also demanding attention, such as Blaufrankisch with its good acidity and cheery notes.

"The wine tour in the Douro Valley, in Portugal, was perfect. The team of Cindy and Rita and Victoria Moore were perfect and every detail was perfect. All meals were superb and the wine tasting an experience we will never forget. My wife and I would certainly recommend this company and we hope to spend many more tours with the."

"I visited important wine producers with the wine buyer from Wine Society and Arblaster and Clarke's wonderful tour guide. The tour included lunches in the winery and evening meals at good local restaurants. The attention to detail was excellent and everything worked smoothly. On this basis, we would certainly recommend them for wine based tours."

"This was a fantastic trip, mostly due to Cindy Marie, our tour guide. She goes over and beyond to take care of all needs. Specifically, she shows a very real caring for people. She takes care of business, and is very intelligent and well spoken, and well educated in the wine business. She just made the trip for me. I knew she would always take care of the details. It was a great tour."

"The tour was well organized, as always. The walks were through beautiful countryside. The vineyard owners and representatives were amazingly welcoming. Also, the wines were superb and the overnight accommodation was excellent. I couldn't have asked for more, really. Arblaster and Clarke have years of experience of these tours and it shows. We've been touring with them for many years and have never had a bad experience."
