We've just returned from five days at Apokoros.. Everything about the place is fantastic. Philia is a wonderful person and does all she can to make you welcome and to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The apartment was much bigger than expected, had all you could require, was very clean and was even serviced twice during our short stay. They arranged the airport transfer for us, together with boat trips, relaxing massage and even Greek lessons. It takes two minutes to walk to the beach, restaurants and nearest shops and about five minutes to walk into the center of the village where you can find plenty more shops, banks, post office etc. I have only praise for this unique establishment and the family who run it. We arrived as guests and left as friends. We can't wait to go back next year! Thank you, Philia.

This is an amazing hotel with everything you can wish for. Philia who works in the reception tries to make everything as good as possible for you and me and my family hade a great vacation here. The decorations of the rooms are very fascinating, but everything is clean and you get a lot of apartment for your money.

This is a lovely spot to occupy - on the beach and close to tavernas yet quiet and tranquil. The owner is friendly and helpful and from a local family who help with all your needs. The rooms are very clean and well equipped and have some quirky touches. There are nice areas around the property, little spaces to play.

Lovely hotel. Caring hostess Filia very open hearted people. The apartments are located in the Bay Kalyves 20 meters from the beach. The kitchen has everything for cooking, coffee. Changing towels every other day. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Large balconies overlooking the sea. The town with convenient facilities. To go from here comfortably around western Crete. You immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a Greek original life.

A friendly, family-run set of apartments, Apokoros stands out as being looked after by someone who cares. The rooms are decorated with thought and personal touches and feel more homely than so many other establishment. Philia is warm, friendly and helpful without losing a professional capacity to ensure things run well. Yes, the studio room we had (304) was not huge and the seaview balcony (we had two) had minimal exposure to the waterfront and no afternoon sun. But it is less than 100m down to the beach which had ample space and sun. We've visited several Greek Islands in our time but this is the first time we thought we would go back, both to Crete and to Apokoros. It's a lovely island and Kalyves is great as a quiet spot to settle or as a base to explore and it's only a half hour taxi ride to Chania (Ryanair) airport.

The apartments are great, right by the lovely beach but in a quiet location. Filia, the manager, is very kind and helpful. Filia will also help you to book tai chi/qi gong lessons, Greek lessons, boat trips and massage. A fantastic stay!

We stayed here for a week in August. This place is a gem. I doubt if there is anything more I could add that hasn't been said in other reviews. It is in a very good location with great views. We had the room next to reception which can get noisy in the morning with people seeking info from Philia, but this is usually after 9am. The whole place is kept spotlessly clean and gardens are very well tended. I will definitely be back.
