Your accommodation in Mumbai will be Hotel Fort Residency. In Vasai, meanwhile, you will stay at a local home.


Day 1 - Arrival

Today, you will arrive in Mumbai and check in at the hotel in the afternoon. You will be warmly welcomed at the hotel. After you unwind, relax at a super cool terrace and go through the itinerary with refreshments. Your culinary vacation begins today by taking a visit to Colaba and fort areas of south Mumbai, where you will sample food at local restaurants and street food. The food tour will be a small walking food tour, in which you will sample different regional cuisines of India. You will also visit heritage sites like CST train station and Crawford market during this time. Tonight's dinner would be included in the food tour.

Day 2 - Half-day city tour

After breakfast, a private car with an English-speaking guide will pick you up for a half-day city sightseeing and cultural tour of Mumbai. During this tour, you will be visiting a spice market as well as attending a cooking session and learn more about basic methods and spices of Indian cuisine. You will be served dinner at one of the popular local-themed Indian restaurants.

Day 3 - Vasai

Today, you will check out of the hotel and take a 1-hour train ride to Vasai. Vasai is a place with Portuguese history and has Christian population of around 80,000. Next, you will check in at a home stay. In the accommodation, you can relax and unwind yourself before starting the next activities. Later, you will explore the 400-year-old fortress city of Vasai. It's hard to believe such a place exists near Mumbai. You will also visit a local market to buy spices and ingredients to cook. The cooking activity will also be your lunch preparation. It takes place at a local home and will feature food which has a Portuguese influence. Post lunch, take a break before you visit a workshop, rare as a gem, which has been given five UNESCO World Heritage Awards. Later, have a chai break, followed by a visit to the vast coastline beaches of Vasai. Tonight's dinner will be served at a local family-run seafood restaurant.

Day 4 - Departure

On the early morning, you will take part in a cycling tour of Vasai, covering its villages. Enjoy the beauty of Vasai with a different perspective and take a guided tour of the hidden gems of the old city. Then, return to the hotel. The check out will be arranged according to your departure schedule.

Vasai is a town on the outskirts of Mumbai, which has 500-year-old Portuguese history and is contrasting to Mumbai. Vasai is known for its paddy fields, banana plantations, vegetable farming, and Portuguese-influenced cuisine.


The menu has been designed in such a way that is keeping in mind the palate of a global traveler. The food in Vasai comes from local farms and will be home-cooked, most of the times in front of you. Aside from having meals at a local's house, you will also dine some tasty dishes at theme restaurants.
