Testimonials

"Our party of six took the Lemon Cooking Class. It is in a covered but open air location among the lemon groves and is very relaxing. The class is extremely well organized, and all the prep work is done so that all you have to do is combine the ingredients. Everyone participates and the motto is "if you don't cook, you don't eat." All the men in our group were not looking forward to doing this but went along to placate the wives, but in the end, they all loved it. We made a five-course meal, including fresh fettuccine and fresh ravioli, and in the end a lovely table was set with carafes of wine and all of us, including the cooks and the wife of the owner sat down and lingered over a fabulous meal. They do not rush you along, and we had a perfect afternoon in the lemon groves, cooking as a group and enjoying the fruits of our efforts!"

"We stayed with Salvatore at the Lemon Farm, he has a two-bedroom apartment which he rents out. Amazing stay, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, having our breakfast right below the lemons! Salvatore is an amazing host, extremely friendly with a lot of knowledge and his love for this farm is legendary, everyone at the farm is also very proud of him. Thanks a lot, Sal, for the perfect Amalfi holiday, we will be back for sure. The Limoncello was the best we have had, made from organic lemons! Don't miss it!"

"Salvatore, the owner, had both heart and brain and shared his personal story along with the telling of how his family grow this fantastic lemons growing like grapes. Believe me - it is hard work! And their dedication to ecological growth was really inspiring. Like someone else wrote - it is worth every penny and more. They tell the story along with showing you around the plantations, taste of wonderful cake and lemon drink and after you get to see there museum and shop. All very nicely guided."

"Cook with locals passionate about their product. We spent an enjoyable (but rainy) day with Ramona and her family visiting a museum of the family lemon grove and then sampling the resulting Limoncello and other products. We were unable to tour the lemon groves due to the rain but the rest of the experience was amazing. We did see some of the lemon groves from the edges and sampled a Sfusato Amalfitano. While enjoying a glass of local wine, the guests and family members together prepared a typical Italian meal to share with other guests and the family. The menu included bruschetta, gnocchi with tomato sauce, eggplant parmesan, meatballs and lemon tiramisu. Featured in most dishes, was the famous Amalfi lemon. We ate and talked about the history of the lemon on the Amalfi Coast, the joys and struggles of organic farming, and many other interesting subjects. If you are looking for something that allows you to interact in a meaningful way with a local family, this tour and cooking experience is for you."

"Simply fantastic tour. Very inexpensive and the tour was full of information regarding growing, work it takes to keep it going. Salvatore the owner is, I think, the eighth generation. This place is extremely large and beautiful. Full of culture, history, the lemons are like nothing you see in the USA, not on Boston. Also the entire tour group outstanding people. Salvatore is so personable and passionate about his life."

"An unforgettable experience! Our family of four took this cooking class and tour of the Aceto family's lemon farm, and it was the best time we had in our twelve days in Italy. Their beautiful outdoor kitchen with a brick oven was so charming and we could sit and talk with Sal for hours. The food we cooked was amazing and their hospitality was sensational. They speak perfect English and we would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast."

"Limoncello and so much more! Salvatore arranged a wonderful afternoon fetching us in the central square of Amalfi. Three hours of immersion in the countryside, lemon terraces, rich succession of plots lined with the Sfusato Amalfitano which are the most famous lemons from Amalfi. We took a break to enjoy lemon pastries, lemonade, citrus salads, and more. Then, we learned about the process of how to make the elixir Limoncello and had a tasting of their products. The tour was three hours long and fabulous."

"An amazing Amalfi cooking class experience! The highlight of our trip to the Amalfi Coast was the extraordinary experience of being wrapped in the fold of this lovely family and being able to share a glimpse into their lives dedicated to growing and sustaining the Sfusato Amalfitano, a particular kind of lemon which grows only here. Ramona of the Amalfi Lemon Experience arranged a lovely day that started with a tour of the organic lemon farm and Limncello factory, guided by Salvatore Aceto, and culminating in a lemonade and lemon cake break in their outdoor kitchen terrace with expansive views. This lemon cake, by the way, is the best we have ever tasted. The day then kicked into high gear with an amazing cooking class in which we created eggplant rolatini, a version of eggplant parmigiana, homemade pasta and vegetable sauce, lemon tiramisu, and smoked cheese baked in lemon leaves, along with grilled vegetables. As we were vegetarians, this menu couldn't have been better. The wine was kept flowing as the cooking class resembling the United Nations made fast friendships and exchanged email addresses. To cap it off, we dined on the fruit of our labors. All right, some of us didn't labor very hard, Giovanna, Carmela, and Ramona did the the most part. In that idyllic location, we were happily joined by members of the Aceto family. We were encouraged to linger, but we did want to place an order in their La Valle dei Mulini shop in the center of the town of Amalfi for a shipment of their exquisite chocolate, cream and other Limncello variations, so that we could enjoy these delights in Canada. This is a memorable experience my husband and I will cherish forever."

"This was an amazing day with Salvatore, Ramona, and the Amalfi Lemon Experience crew. We had the best day here with such a welcoming and wonderful family. Our day started with being picked up in Amalfi in a golf buggy and transported up to the Amalfi Lemon Experience factory. We had a tour around the lemon groves and our guide was great, so patient and interesting. She then took us to where the family were beginning to prepare lunch and we had some lemon cake and lemon juice before heading down to the small factory and museum of family history. After we looked around and took plenty of photos, we tasted three different types of Limoncello, and wandered back to the dining area on the terrace to start preparing lunch. We had opted for the four course lunch which you prepare yourself and then eat altogether and it was the most wonderful experience. We made ravioli, aubergine parmigiana, breaded and herbed chicken, and then, a gorgeous lemon tiramisu. The day was just amazing and Salvatore and his family are just the most welcoming people you will meet. Thank you, Amalfi Lemon Experience!"

"An incredible experience! We loved every second of this special tour! It was a privilege to be welcomed into the Aceto family's farm. We learned the history of their family and their organic lemon orchard and then, we participated in a wonderful cooking class. We made eggplant, mozzarella and ricotta ravioli, eggplant rolatini, lemon tiramisu, and we baked smoked mozzarella cheese in lemon leaves. What a meal! The view from the outdoor kitchen was breathtaking and that, paired with the delicious food and warm company made this the highlight of our trip. This is a must-do in Amalfi."

"What an experience! We booked this a day in advance by requesting our hotel to call them and make the reservation. We were met in the central piazza (at the footsteps of the church) and were taken up in groups in small golf-cart type vehicles. There were about 10-12 of us on the day of the tour.It started with a walk through the lemon groves, an overview of how the plantation is managed, the history, followed by delicious homemade lemonade and lemon cake, and a tour of the museum. This tour was such a breath of fresh! The owners are very passionate about the lemon business and it shines through in how they explain every little detail, a complete must do while in Amalfi."

"Attitude changing experience. We were exposed to farmers that believe in protecting and developing the environment and producing lemons that taste like lemons should taste. They are so passionate and are 100% organic in everything they do. All young people from all over the world should visit a farm like this to understand that it is not always about fast, cheap, and perfect to their eye, but detrimental to the body, soul, and environment. I will only buy organic produce for the rest of my life. Thank you for an eye-opening experience."

"An amazing day in Amalfi! This was the highlight of our trip to Amalfi. We had such a fun time touring the lemon grove with Carmella and Salvatore. They are truly passionate about the multi-generation family business. The meal we cooked was so delicious and was so much fun. The outdoor kitchen looks over the lemon groves and the view alone is amazing. We prepared all parts of the meal with Ramona and other family members. We enjoyed the meal with several of their family members, it was such a unique experience. I would highly recommend this as a way to spend a day in Amalfi. It was our favorite meal of the trip, too."

  • Review by Maria B. from Hohenfels, Germany

"Best day of our Amalfi Coast experience! We went to the Amalfi Coast for our Spring break and signed up online for the Amalfi Lemon Experience tour and cooking class. It was by far one of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences we have had as a family. We began with a tour of the lemon groves, finishing with lemon cake and delicious lemonade and stayed for a cooking class which ended up just being the three of us.It was unseasonably cold, so instead of doing the class outside, the family invited us into their home and held the class in their own kitchen. It was amazing, when they easily could have cancelled for such a small group or the weather. The hands-on cooking and tasting was incredible and the meal so delicious. This was one of those experiences you read about, but usually don't get to experience in reality. It was a beautiful and delicious day, and the family Aceto was so incredibly gracious and kind. Just perfect."
