Your guides will introduce you to new wines from indigenous Greek varieties, unforgettable islands in deep blue waters, ancient cities, preserved villages, and of course, that ineffable quality that has made Mediterranean gastronomy the basis of healthy living.
On arrival at Paralio Astros, you will enjoy a welcome dinner.
After breakfast, you will visit the environmental awareness at the management department of Parnon Mountain and Moustos Waterland, where you will have a comprehensive presentation of the protected area.
Afterwards, you will have a small trekking and birdwatching tour by the Moustos Lake. After lunch at a local tavern, you will visit the Oil-Olive Museum and enjoy an olive oil tasting.
You will depart for the Agios Ioannis village, where you will visit a traditional creamery for testing the local “graviera” (traditional tasty cheese).
Then, you will drive to the mountainous village of Agios Petros and enjoy a workshop with traditional local pasta products like chylopitas, lasagna, and frumenty.
The next point of interest is Arahova village, where you will rest, have a picnic under the perennial plane trees, and visit the archaeological monument of Caryatides.
Driving through a soft off-road river and gorge crossing, you will visit a hermitage inside the rocks. After that, you will cross an old marble quarry on the remains of an ancient carriage road which brings you to a plateau at a height of 900 meters, with a breathtaking view which towards the Taygetos Mountains.
The last destination is the village of Kastanitsa, where you will taste local chestnut products. Dinner will be at the accommodation.
This day will begin with a walking tour of the cedar forest, which is a unique “preserved physical monument” in Europe of 740 acres and is protected by European Network Natura 2000. The level of difficulty is medium and the duration is approximately 3 hours.
Then, you will ascent by jeeps to Megali Tourla (Kronion Mountain), with a plateau full of wild-type tea at an altitude of 1936 meters with breathtaking views. Lunch will be at a traditional tavern. You will return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
The last day will begin early in the morning. You will board a fishing boat and have a magnificent opportunity for real fishing in the Argolic Gulf. The rest of the day is free to relax.
