Guests will stay in the very quiet and peaceful hamlet of Cairnbaan in a traditional style but modern Highland cottage. The cottage has all necessary amenities like Wi-Fi, TV, washing machine, outdoor seating, sitting room, two double bedrooms that can be used by couples or a group of four close friends, a bathroom, and towels/toiletries. The cottage is situated just a one-minute walk from the Cairnbaan Hotel and a seven-minute walk along the canal from the Cairnbaan Cooking School.

This is a self-catered holiday, please bring your own food or shop locally. The activities promote social distancing and safe operational practices that would hopefully comply with any lifting of restrictions and possible estimated future regulations in Scotland. The included Scottish cooking session will only be possible if COVID-19 "meeting inside" restrictions are lifted, if not and weather permitting, this will be moved outside. The foraging sessions will be outside, provided in the context of social distancing "outside" meeting regulations. The following itinerary is a sample, the actual days may change.

Cairnbaan is a small Highland village on the banks of the Crinan Canal. It is located on the west coast of Scotland about 80 miles from Glasgow. Located in Cairnbaan is the Cairnbaan Hotel, which has a cozy pub, and restaurant, it is open all year. Cairnbaan is the midway point of the Crinan Canal (the most beautiful shortcut in Britain). The canal, which is nine miles long, is now a historic monument and is still used by pleasure yachts taking this shortcut to avoid going round the Mull of Kintyre.

The complete length of the Crinan Canal is now covered by a cycle track/walking path. Nearby (three miles) is the town of Lochgilphead which has a variety of shops, large and small. Lochgilphead is served by bus from Glasgow six times per day. The larger town of Oban is 35 miles north of Cairnbaan and is well worth a visit, Oban is also served by train from Glasgow six times per day.
