During this gourmet getaway tour, guests will be provided with daily accommodation in restored apartments in a hilltop village in the Apennines, in the Abruzzo countryside. All accommodation is family run, and feature all modern en-suite facilities, while still retaining their ancient charm.


During this culinary tour of Abruzzo, you will be wined and dined in the Apennines, tasting Italian dishes in sensational slow food restaurants. You will also take part in a private hands-on cooking class, with the local Abruzzese ladies, before being serenaded with Italian folksongs by Absolutely Abruzzo Tours international tenor, Michael Howard. Roccascalegna is a commune and town in the province of Chieti, part of the Abruzzo region of southern Italy. The small, medieval town is perfectly preserved, lying on the spur of the mountain. The medieval castle was built by the Lombards, with a Norman tower.


During this culinary tour, guests will be provided with seasonal, local fresh Italian ingredients. All meals and drinks with meals (wines, water, coffee, and liqueurs for lunch or dinner) are included. You will have the opportunity to create a 4-course dinner with the guide of a local Abruzzese, taste local producers of fine award winning Montepulciano d'Abruzzo wines produce, exquisite extra virgin olive oils, sumptuous pecorino sheep cheeses, and rare truffles with accompanying tastings.
