I was given a gift of the "Dude Food" cookery course last year by my parents. This was a full day course. The staff on site were very welcoming when we checked in and after a coffee and a chat with the others on the course it was straight into a hands-on demonstration. Each of us were put into pairs at a workstation which was fully stocked with all the equipment needed. All of us had an individual set of knives that we were responsible for cleaning ourselves throughout the day but all other washing up was taken care of by the staff on site.

The chef who led us for the day, who's name I think was Ben, was charismatic and amusing and very easy with the description of what he was doing - no silly technical cooking terms just simple and unambiguous.

Throughout the morning we prepared several dishes, from lamb chops slow roasted in cola, to chicken Kiev with potato Rosti and coleslaw, to properly making our own sausages which was just as much like you'd expect if you ever watched 'the generation game' in the 90s.

For lunch we sat together and ate the chicken Kiev meal we had prepared in the morning and had a beer.

The afternoon session was then spent learning how to prepare and fillet a fish properly, which we then cooked and enjoyed along with Thai style dip and buns.

Anything that we cooked and didn't eat on the day we were then able to take home to enjoy afterwards, and we were given a copy of all of the recipes and ingredients we had used during the day to take home with us so we could enjoy the dishes again, along with a couple of other recipes that I assume they sometimes alternate with.

A brilliant day, would definitely recommend to anyone else.
